Just a tip, how i performed awesome drifts and perfect donuts on a fwd, after some practice the results will be awesome. Press the button on the handbrake when you pull it and don't keep it like that for too long! Keep playing with the handbrake to control the back tyres. Traction control off and accelerate just as much as you need, feel the car. Combine this 2 things and have fun🦾. Keep calm when you drift and don't gain too much speed, because you will keep your speed from acceleration, that's why you turn off the traction control. Most drifts are failed when you pull that handbrake without releasing it, that's why you need to keep that button pressed and just lift it or release it for a perfect control. Stay safe on the road! Hope you the best.

something that really helps me with this kind of stuff is having a racing sim setup. if you have a pc that can run kind of strenuous games id recommend beamng drive since thats about as close to reality as you'll get. you can learn how to drift along with other very useful techniques with no concequences and it translates really well into the real world. you'll feel safer on the road and more comfortable with loosing traction in bad situations. just make sure you account for real world things though, like transmission and differential damage. specifically if you have an automatic. it can be easy to break axles, cause transmission temps to rise dramatically, cause problems inside of your differential, etc... manual transmissons are typically a little more forgiving in terms of wear besides the differential. but theres always risks that aren't simulated. also dont be too confident with racing sims. they're helpful because they let you understand the physics at play. but they dont simulate everything. a lot of people think they're invertable because they can drift in beamng drive. truth is a lot of sim games dont simulate ice well. ive found dirt in beamng is the most simular, but still far from the feeling of snow. full on drifting in the snow with transfers and mongie's is a good way to loose complete traction of the front wheels which is what matters. especially since grip on ice is very unpredictable. just get to know your car specifically and understand real world risks and inconviences. it also helps to know how weight is distributed in your car. fwd cars are typically front heavy since there's no rear drivetrain components.

Brother I will tell you I have a nice dandy setup with an e break, shifter, wheel and pedals, and the second I ripped the e break for the first time this winter I was so amazed at how well of a job beam has done. I’ve spent 2.5k hours (roughly) driving in that game and I said out loud “it’s just like the video games!” Myself, am a very confident driver. I honestly thank beamng for this. Beamng and a wheel taught me everything I needed to know before hopping in the vehicle for the first times. You are right with the ice, but every other aspect is simulated so perfectly that my skill was already so advanced hopping into the car. I have a nack for driving things - I typically am just good at operating vehicles (not like Cats or industrial shi) but I wouldn’t be where I am without Beamng. Drifting my fwd with the handbrake in the snow is different because of the different physics experienced with FWD vs RWD. I am able to practise/already had practiced that skill and it translates perfectly. Beamng is the best game. And then when I want to get fun, hop on assetto corsa and cut up no hesi. I have yet to get into assetto corsa drifting partially because I’ve gotten so nice with Beamng

Small advice, just slightly pull your handbrake and leave it there so you can learn to countersteer with both hands on wheel. Than build some speed and you will be drifting every time you turn.
