The reason Mr. Robot eludes most is, not the story, but the overwhelming linux and programming references, and they are not there just as easter eggs, but as narrative clues, like the episode titles. If you know basic linux and know about networks and pentesting, the characters slip in lots of references in their dialog, hinting at the deeper symbolism in the episode. This is pretty deep however as it requires nerd level, like in this episode where a deamon service is a process often auto running at a lower level, which restarts by itself if killed but keeps doing is job without user knowledge, the way Elliot kepps getting the key in his dreams. Overall through the series it creates a parallel story of how Elliot is trying to hack himself and underlines how he is using similar attack vectors as he would to gain control of a server, like he is himself an encrypted HDD. This is obviously woosh to most audiences, which are left with a bunch of "strange" dialog which just makes the series unnecessary focussed on his symptoms. But Elliot truly treats the real world as it is a computer system, which is in conflict with his feelings of loneliness and direct human interaction. Can't wait for season 4 on 10/6.

I have problems socializing. I don't know why but since the beginning of the series I thought that he may have passed through what he passed. Anyway, I didn't create a "Mr robot" to me, but when you are a child and go through something like this, something inside you just breaks it is hard to describe. One of my favorite portions of that episode, a certain thing would be happening from the perspective of the other characters in the room that I believe very rarely has ever been the case in this series, maybe indeed never before this. I'm referring of course to what instantly became Mr Robot's Gollum/Two Towers moment lol That when we see Gollum in the middle of that movie having an argument with his other repressed identity, it would be him of course just back and forth, but Peter Jackson staged that sequence visually to be almost like 2 distinct creatures engaging one another. Well so, back to MR, and when Elliot sitting in the chair across from Krista and Mr Robot's first just trying to get out of the room, then begging Krista eye to eye to not openly talk about what she's about to. But so that if we could see that whole scene but from Krista's and/or Vera's eyes, it would boil down to seeing Elliot very manic in that chair as he states one thought as himself but then immediately on top of it he growls back out whatever reply "by Mr Robot" there was, one, constantly back and forth, right on top of each other, often overlapping, rinse repeat. It mighta been like watching Elliot doing a ventriloquism act but without the actual dummy.

After a day with that boy when Elliot started crying while the boy wasn't around, i really got that. He was the only person he could really communicate to after a long time. At the end of the episode i wanted to hug my loved ones. It is completely based on human connections and i love that. Now, ironically, I absolutely adored this show from the very beginning and was just thunderstruck by what Malek was doing, and even though I make no bones about thinking all awards concepts are just kinda silly and stupid, I definitely had a nice big smile on my face when I heard Rami snagged himself a big ole' Emmy first time out. But. Well I feel pretty much just as strongly that Rami was significantly miscast as Freddie Mercury from the beginning, did not particularly feel a whole lot out of his performance to connect me to (especially given then we're gonna start talking about him landing mister Oscar for that?), and believe me I've never taken any pleasure in stating that Bohemian Rhapsody as the movie itself I found quite mediocre. I was sort of stunned when I first heard that got a Best Pic nod. I mean, yeah I get it, the ship of Sasha Baron Cohen had sailed, that idea was so long gone it's like it'd never popped up to begin with. Chasing that was a fools errand. But Rami Malek has a VERY distinct look, and which no is not a sly way to try and say he's not good looking, no, he can still turn plenty heads easily enough. And it was just too far away from Freddie, for the overall package. Who would've been the perfect choice? I'm not at all sure. Yes I'm sorry I do not bring along with my constructive criticism here the "clear answer", as it were. I don't know, I've since in the time the movie came out heard someone reference Patrick Wilson? That could be worth a try.

Having DID myself, this show is the best representation of it I have ever seen in media. Not stigmatizing, and accurately showing some of the fears and troubles we go through with this disorder. It even made me have breakthroughs mentally speaking. Sure it was hard as hell to watch, as it made me relive some deep traumas, but it made me think about mysel-ves in a totally other light and that helped us a lot. Of course it's romanticized and Eliot has a lot more trouble than just DID, but it's also the case for the most part of us having it. That's my favorite show ever. ❤
@AMatterofFilm4 жыл бұрын
What I find incredible about the show and all art for that matter, is that the reflection it causes within one is truly inspiring in the sense that having DID as you point out, existencial issues or interest in improvement will definitely get you through whatever you need to go beyond. I dig the subtle hints at the Mandela Effect throughout the series... Really curious how it will end. White Rose is obsessed with time, one intro shows her(him) walking up to a huge window inside what looked to be some massive Cern like device. Angela is questioned in that room by her younger self as the fish tank drains and the fish dies. I think White Rose shows Angela why she is so obsessed with time, she will reverse the draining fish tank and save the fish from it's fate after the fact which is the only thing I can think of that the series hinted at that would make Angela act the way she does after that scene. Example is she keeps rewinding the exploding building on TV saying all the people are fine if you just rewind it. Seriously the best show on TV right now... can't wait to see if my theory is correct.

Fantastic analysis (and editing)! Favourite show on TV, probably ever. Have never seen anxiety and introversion portrayed so well anywhere else. All I hope is for season 4 to bring it home and not pull a Lost.

Please make more videos about Mr. Robot. Please. This is probably my favourite video on KZbin right now. Like not kidding at all. I’m commenting on the same video three times. This made me realise that I’ve missed so much details from the show. If you could make a video about the whole story of Mr. Robot, I’ll be the happiest person in the world. I am subscribing you for this video. Haven’t watched the others but you deserve at least a million subscribers. Also, the editing of the video was SOOOOOO GODDAMN AWESOME. Keep making these. ♥️

A Matter of Film I cannot wait for season 4 to come and at the same time I don’t want it to end so soon. I discovered it for Rami. And I’m regretting so much of why I didn’t discover it years ago. Also, Rami deserves every single awards ever made in the world. Love him more than my life.

I think my favorite episode may be the Daemons or the one with Elliot and the kid. I found it interesting that Sam Esmail, is way more interested in character over plot, even though he is a master at plotting as well. I think some people get too caught up in plot, a great plot is nothing without characters we care about. Great video and youve got a new subscriber

I feel as if we’re going to be absolutely destroyed with the ending of Mr. Robot. I can’t imagine an ending that would be fit for Elliot’s story. At least without it being bleak, cliche, or some kind of endless cycle.

Who's watching this after the series finale?

This is one of the most original, unique, and captivating tv series I’ve ever fell in love with. Such a masterpiece of dialogue and storytelling backed by great filming and character development. The series finale absolutely blew my mind, and made me so happy for Elliot and Darlene. An end to a show that I was truly at peace with. The whole show touched on my own emotions so much relating to my issues with me own father, and the things I wish he would have said to me that I needed to hear, and the relationship with my sister.
