Amazfit GTR 4 Review - Watch Before You Buy!

Thanks for the review, it helped me decide (GTS4/GTR4/Galaxy). I had a Mi Band 6 before. I received the GTR4 two days ago and I'm loving it. It's really a great, clear UI, with a fabulous display, battery life and overall design (zillion cool watchfaces). It's big but even in my small wrist it 's comfortable and looks nice. That and basic health tracking (no watch while sleeping, not even the tiny Mi Band) and notifications/quick replies in WhatsApp (Android) were my target. I'll probably get a protector for the glass. Not much of sports guy, so nothing beyond steps count. I'm really happy so far!

The GTR 4 is a great watch and great value, if you can pick it up on a sale then definitely worth it. But I would also check out the new Balance which is the new version of the GTR 4 and the retail price is not much more. I dont have any experience with the GT3 so I cant offer you a recommendation between the two. Also, if you are not in a rush, I have heard that Amazfit might be coming out with some new watches but they will likely be more high end and in the $300 plus range, if that is in your budget. but of course there is always a new watch or gadget coming out... thanks for watching!!

Sorry but GTR 4 is still great. To me, the cheetah pro is only a mild upgrade and with the cheetah round you Actually lose a feature - can't make phone calls.

just wonder the step count record in the app will record the step count from watch or watch plus phone? like Huawei and xiaomi the step count will record from watch but after 12am it will finalize with own algorithm to recalculate with phone and watch. it is very annoying

thanks for the video. i just got this watch today and i'm surprised how good it is. mine is the exact version as yours! do you know if sweating on the strap will pose any concerns to wear and tear?

The band held up great for me. I got the gtr 4 successor, Balance, and I got the same kind of band. I love these adjustable fabric bands, fresh water and sweat don't seem to bother it.

The GTR 4 is great and is a little older now so discounts are more common but for a little more money I would recommend the Amazfit Balance. This is basically the new version of the GTR 4. There should be several software updates, which might help. AOD and GPS are probably biggest battery killers but you should get 7 to 12 days depending on your use.

As far as I know, you can't completely disable GPS. However, it only gets activated when it Autodetects a workout or when you start a workout. So turn off autodetect and if your not working out then GPS should stay off. Also, you can still use indoor workouts like treadmill or elliptical and GPS won't turn on. Hope that helps.

If you are just asking if the GTR 4 has the readiness score, then yes it was added with a software update.

I don't think so. Why would you want to? If you want to do it for long periods, you can unpair the watch, which breaks the BT connection but if you are looking to turn the BT on and off frequently that's probably not a great idea. You can turn on battery saving mode, which turns the watch into an old school watch (clock) with no BT connection. That is easy to toggle on and off and will save a ton of battery if that was your concern. Hope that helps!

I am using the calling feature in my samsung galaxy with android 13. I am facing one problem when I receive or make any calls the watch will connect only after few seconds and that will put a beep sound of bluetooth connecting in the middle of the call and if you are connected to some other bluetooth earphone, on connection of this watch with the mobile our already connected earphone talking gets converted to private talking I.e talking via phone. Like the bluetooth connection disturbs alot. Is there any solution to this?

I dont have any great answers for this, I have not heard of this problem before. But I have something you can try...In the Zepp app you can go into phone settings, there is a delay feature which delays the notification to the watch, maybe turning that off will help- I know that is more for notification but maybe... Not sure about the earbud connection either. If you are ok with it, remove the buds from the watch connection, something is glitching somewhere, but if they are unpaired they cant interact. I hope one of those things work. If not, you can always just unpair your watch and resync it, maybe that will get rid of the bug. let me know if anything helped.

It's called ＂the ultimate leap＂ right now its in the sports health category. When you are on watch faces page, click top right clover pattern. Then you will get full list of watch faces without the categories.

any standard 22mm band will work. You can buy them from anywhere but I know Amazfit and Amazon have the bands.

Amazfit has updated software on both so that is mostly similar. The trex 2 is bulky and heavy and you can't make calls on it. But it is more durable. I don't think you can change bands on trex 2. There are a few differences but mostly I think it comes down to which one looks better to you.

Hi, does the screen brightness go down automatically when watch enters the AOD mode? If so, is it still readable in the full sun? Also, can you manually set the brightness of the AOD mode?

I dont use AOD much so I had to check this. I did not see much if any change with the AOD brightness, but it was hard to tell because the AOD usually does not have a lot to their displays. But I thought the AOD was very readable but tougher in bright outside light. Inside, I actually thought that the AOD was brighter than the screen with auto display on.
