What’s great about baking is sharing it with everyone. After I got married and we moved away I slowly stopped baking bc it would just take us forever to finish desserts. I mainly made things I can freeze like cookies and just pop a couple dough balls in the oven when we craved. Now that we have 3 kids my husband and I hopping back into the baking train and I’m so excited. Can’t wait to try this and see my beautiful babies dive into their first brownie and first cheesecake as a combo!

My grandfather was a country gp, who lived by the motto: "everything in moderation." One Christmas, about 6-7 years ago, I made cheesecake brownies, something a little bit new and interesting in Australia. Before leaving to travel home, I left him with several leftover cheesecake brownies. The following week, he rang my mum to chat, and admitted he'd been unwell with a migraine. Concerned, Mum probed him about it further. Finally he admitted it was a chocolate migraine, from gorging on cheesecake brownies! 😂 Cheesecake brownies drove Mr Moderation into madness! That's why I need to make this recipe...a fun way to honour my grandpa, who has since passed away. Plus, an excuse to try out newly available lactose free cream cheese! 😉

john, i know you like tips so here’s mine! i’ve perfected a cheesecake recipe over 8 years (i like to make them into little cupcakes). it’s very similar to yours, however, i do add about 1/3 cup of sour cream OR plain greek yogurt with a tbs of lemon juice. it gives the cheesecake a nice tangy flavor i know you’ll love!
@staceymaepearlnolan20894 жыл бұрын
Hey Gabriela, so you add those amounts to this recipe? I usually use sour cream and lemon juice also...Is it weird there’s no heavy cream?
@___gabsss4 жыл бұрын
@@staceymaepearlnolan2089 my measurements are not quite the same. i like to watch my sugar intake so, for instance, for 16 oz of cream cheese i would add 1/3 cup of sugar, not 1/2 (especially since the brownie is already very sweet). also, i do fold in whipped heavy cream to my batter as well! gives it a very light and fluffy texture

@@krissypearson8410 I made them last night. They look beautiful and they have a nice rich chocolate taste but they need several modifications to improve the taste and texture and the blog recipe does not match exactly the directions on the video. Note, for anyone, like me, who is going to make these after printing the recipe there are some differences. First - The printed recipe says to use a 8x8 pan but he used a 9x9 in the video. I don't have an 8x8 pan and I jury-rigged my 9x9. Luckily I watched the video before I spread the cheesecake layer, so I scraped the batter into a 9x9 pan. Also, the printed recipe doesn't say to reserve 1/2 cup of the batter so I reserved that when I put the batter into a 9x9 pan. It also says; "Add chocolate-cheesecake spread with skewer." I found that wording really confusing, especially since I didn't know I was supposed to reserve 1/2 cup of batter. Anyhow. It's in the oven and I think it will turn out. What I learned is I should watch the video, print the recipe, and make sure everything is the same.

@PreppyKitchen can you plz help? I cooked these in an 8x8 for 40min and left in the oven for another 30min. Then set on the counter for about 30min and put in the fridge for 2 hrs. Wanted to try a piece and glad I did bc the brownie batter was still raw. Any suggestions? The cheesecake was done tho. I'm putting them back in the oven at 325 for 20min just to see if it'll cook

I adore you! You are my favorite chef in bakery! Love your recipes, I wanted to learn how to bake, (that's one of the talents I don't have) to bake and decorate a cake for my daughter for her wedding. I looked around not convinced, until I found you! You give all your viewers confidence and inspiration. Thank you so much! 😍💋 Ps. I adore your kitchen and your kitchen's utensils in copper 😉👍

My mom used to dab a little on the back of her ears when she was in her teens. They were poor so they couldn’t afford perfume. I’ve tried it and it really smells very good!

OMG, I watched this yesterday evening and even my husband was looking up from what he was watching. I told him I was going to give it a try today, and I did and it’s cooling on the side after 30 minutes in the switched off oven and it looks and smells amazing......I absolutely love your channel and I’m just gutted I didn’t find you sooner than 6 months ago. Last night I went back to your first video and I’m going to watch them all in order, but I’ve made your perfect sponge cake at least once a week since September, it usually lasts around 24 hours. I make 2 sponges and fill it with home made lemon curd. My next Preppy Kitchen recipe to try will be your Blueberry Pie, it looks fabulous. Much love 💕 💖 from Wales 🏴 UK 🇬🇧 xxxxx
