@@johncarl5505 ~ Yeah, I've owned quite a number of motorcycles during my lifetime of 73 years, one of which was a Harley, and one of which was a bullet bike, plus I've had several friends who owned Harley's and I've ridden several of them, and I can honestly say that riding a Harley compared to riding a Jap bike is about like comparing riding on a bull's back to riding on a leopard's back. Or, like driving a Monster Truck compared to driving a Ferrarri. What puzzles me about Harley riders is why they don't go test ride a Jap bike. Maybe it has to do with their ego being so tied up in owning a Harley, kind of like a cult mindset in which the cult members opt to go along with the most cockamamie bullshit in order to have a position in the cult.

I had one of the original chopper magazines back in the mid-60's. One had a cartoon of a dude sitting on a chopper with a guy standing in front of him, both looking down the road. The front wheel was beyond the picture frame, the forks ending at the frame. The caption was "Just over that next rise." Turn the page and another cartoon finished the fork with the front tire. Shows radically raked bikes go way back 50 years. Never forgot that. The main article was "Springers vs Gliders". Also, all the choppers were early vintage hand-built, the first "Rat Choppers". A few years later came East Rider (1969). Still remember that like yesterday. Nowadays I can't remember what I did yesterday. 🤔 Anyone remember that magazine "American Chopper"?
