QoR watercolors were 1 of my 1st sets of watercolor when I started painting. They are vibrant beautiful paints. I reach for them every day. QoR Sap Green is my all time favorite sap green.

I'm late to the party here for comments on your great video. Ali was one of the featured artists in the winter 2024 issue of "Watercolor Artist". Likely you have seen it, as many libraries will let you download it to read. Pam Wenger was also featured, and her style is also very expressive and colorful.

Ali quote was interpreted incorrectly for the blonde hair: what she referred to was sap green, plus the perylene Crimson and then mix that with the yellow for blonde hair. Makes more sense then it becomes a neutral or brown then mixed with the yellow.

Love getting your thoughts on this unique set. I was watching what you were using as comparison…and I was curious about Areolin (sp?) I’d seen Jane Blundell’s commentary on how it can turn grayish over time … have you found one that avoids that fate? It’s a pretty yellow and I can’t ever decide if I want it in the palette or not. Love your videos, thanks again!

Hi there - it is true many brands that label their yellow as Aureolin are fugitive, but Holbein Aureolin is lightfast.
