This is an incredibly cool project, even if I find hardware choices somewhat distressing. Great design philosophy.

Thanks! Its amazing to use as well. Its so nice to just rise it up with a simple press of a button instead of searching tool just to get it up and running.

@@DesireToInspire1 I can imagine that. Why you didn’t use stepper motor? It would give you the option to dial the router height accurately. BTW are you planning to publish the plan on Etsy?

Top, very good

Fun project. If you really want an electric elevator, it might be better to user a stepper motor so you can get precise height target. Like 1,8 mm up etc. Else I think the electric part is more fun than usefull compared to a manual adjustment. Also in durability’s

Well from my experience so far with it very good. The stepper motor feels a bit overkill because then i need to mix in a lot of electronics into it and I do not want that. I did a few test and I could with very little effort control it by 0,01 mm accuracy. For woodworking, that good enough for me :D Being able to lift it with a push of a button is so sweet. The build was very fun as well!

It's a wonderful mechanism. Also, because it uses a motor, dust collection may be an issue, as many people have had trouble with.
@DesireToInspire15 ай бұрын
The motor is sealed and the dust extraction is superb! I'm not worried at all. There is basically no dust in the cabinet and I have no dust extraction from above that I yet have to build.

This is truly a practical design. Could you be so kind as to provide a source for the timing belt and the corresponding pulleys? Thanks for the video🙂

Shouldn’t you have a locking collar on the lead screw as the whole unit can drop.
@DesireToInspire15 ай бұрын
No need at all. The motor is geared and will not turn unless power is connected to it so the set height is kinda self locking.

Prety nice, but now think about having the dusty side of this, completely isolate from the rest of the mechanism.
