At age 59 I was having some cognitive issues that were pretty scary. Alzheimer's and dementia are in my family on both sides, my maternal grandmother and my dad both died from it, with my dad having a dual diagnosis. I cut out the vegetable and seed oils, processed food, and sugar. I eat primarily regeneratively raised grass-fed and grass-finished beef, wild caught Alaskan salmon, pastured and organic eggs, Bulgarian yogurt, raw A2 golden guernsey milk, lots of grass-fed Irish butter, beef tallow, a few nuts and seeds, and berries. I'm now 62, I've lost 75 lbs. and am off my type 2 diabetes medicines 11 months now, after taking a non-insulin injectable for nearly 20 years. My fasting insulin came down from 77 to a much better 19. A1c is still improving and is currently around 6.2. Still have 100 lbs. to lose but I'm no longer experiencing any cognitive symptoms, and my diabetic neuropathy is gone.

I moved in and became the carer for my mother who had Alzheimer's. As I was in charge of meals I cut out refined carbohydrates and when she stuck to this it really improved her cognition. On her usual diet (she'd been living off jam sandwiches and processed food - understandable as it was easy for her to prepare for herself) she was quite child-like and easily confused, but on the new regime I was able to have quite reasonable conversations about things like politics and the environment. I told family what I was doing and the results, but at Christmas she received a fair amount of chocolate and biscuits. I hid them but one day she found them and munched through a whole boxful before I realised. She regressed to a giggly 3 or 4 year-old level (very sweet and she was happy) and I just had to accept that we'd have to start over tomorrow. Unfortunately there was no tomorrow for her.

I eat grass finished beef once a month (no pork), no farmed fish, organic when I can or needed and take my 4 caps of fish oil (high omega 3 dosage) daily. Now I found that because, I've dropped my omega 6s, I've been harming myself with so much omega 3s! Please encourage me! I'm about to throw my hands up & the internet out the window and just be miserable in my poor health and die a slow and agonizing death! 💕🌞🌵😷

JUNK FOOD CHANGEs THE BRAIN IN A SINGLE DAY. My mother is in that place of pre-dementia, and yesterday eat pizza, and sugar. Today is more depressed and I could see in her face DEMENTIA TALKING, as I did with 2 grandparents. She is losing the ability to seat for long and want to stay over 14 hours a day on the bed. She is a NPD, and you can image with dementia (for lack of good nutrician) kicking in. Any suggestions on how to convince this woman to seat... so the body can better process the food... will be appreciated.

Many people have sensitivities to gluten, some have problems with all grains. (No one knows if it’s the grains or the glyphosate, or both.) Dairy is also a problem for many. If you look up diets for autistic people, they say to drop the grains and the casein in sairy. Certain DNa anomalies cannot digest dairy. It all affects not only the Microbiome, but also the brain. All chemicals and other additives can be neurotoxic? Maybe read Grain Brain? Clean, real food eating.

Now, Dr. Pelz is correct and I applaud her. She, Dr. Wahls, Dr. Hyman are pioneers with getting back to basics. It's weird we do this. We have beings who can come and go while we figure what to eat. We have aliens while 1/6th of the Earth is owned by one man and we are being told what to eat. It's weird to think about. But, we rank 38th, though I like the study from 2017 where we ranked 54th. That had Macedonia is 55th. Macedonia and then came the United States, It's so weird. One of you should be the FDA chief. Not Scott Gottleib, who now sits on Pfizer's board. It's so weird. We all most have it. Good job with the show. We need more of this.
