My friend, you can make a four hour video every day for the rest of my life and I would watch it every day. I only wish I had enough money to actually subscribe to you and get the bonus footage that I’m missing out on.

We have a thriving commercial Octopus fishery in SW Western Australia, there are something like 25 boats fishing it, it's a MSC certified fishery, so totally sustainable, contributing approx 8.3 million dollars to the economy every year

On holiday in Greece watched the locals catching octopus, they dispatched them first and repeatedly bashed them on the rocks to tenderise them before cooking 👍
@stevenr246312 күн бұрын
Yes, Ive seen that many a time too in Greece. Should get some Greek fishermen over to Guernsey to help solve the octopus invasion.
@kinblanking12 күн бұрын
give that Occy a good drashing on the rocks like drashing the dust out of a rug. It will tenderise it and make it easier to skin.

You should try marinating octopus in pineapple. Blend up pineapple including the rind if you want (I don't) and use that to tenderize any meats. Do not over marinate beef with it it'll become like mushy ground beef when cooked XD Defreezing octopus also help tenderize along with bashing it.
@terryneale308610 күн бұрын
I watch virtually every video you put on here. For crying out loud, if you’re foraging bring your bag and some bloody bands! Can’t wait for the octopus cook up. I boil mine depending on size, cut off the tentacle’s then either BBQ or grill also cook briefly in very hot pan. Season with pepper and course sea salt and chilli flakes.dip it in sweet chilli sauce.

You need to set some octopus traps. Just a piece of plastic pipe sealed at one end on a harness. No bait needed

Big fan, sorry I did not chime in before, but in HI where catching and cooking/eating octopus is a big thing, the key to "catch and cook" is to pound and soften them before drying or smoking or grilling etc. So, like you do with the omers, pound them and you might like them in the future LOL
@SMASHFISHING12 күн бұрын

How many Lobsters and Crab can you keep on the Islands? I think its only two as none licensed fishermen and 90mm in the UK? I have never tried Lobster simply because they are said to taste not similar to Crab which I have tried a few times and don't like. I stand corrected on any of my comments.🙃
