@@PeacefullPath-8 but its not meant as if just bc theyre asian they can suddenly do everything perfectly, its meant as in how (some) asian people work and practise a lottttt and are therefore able to do incedible things at often young ages.
@paladro3 жыл бұрын
@@justbored9415 just saying that is a racist trope, perhaps rethink your logic and empathy for better understanding . making broad generalizations, even ones you believe are positive, is still generalizing a group. this is a singular performance by an individual at a competition, if you are looking beyond that, its probably something within yourself. your statement makes no sense, anyone who practices alot from a young age has a the potential, yet you seem hung up on the asian component, which is the least important detail you could point out and certainly not a defining trait when it comes to success. phenoms and standouts come in all shapes, sizes, colors and creeds.
Absolutely amazing and beautiful! I have never seen someone skate as gracefully as this before. I didn’t even know it was possible. Someone used the word fluid as part of their description of his skating. It was! Wow, very cool! The first time I watched it I focused on the skates because I was winding if he would hit a cone. I had to go back just to watch it again so I could enjoy the performance as a whole. Fantastic!

How different are rollerblades from figure skates? I'm a figure skater, but due to COVID I can barely go to an ice rink. So I've been thinking of trying rollerblades or roller skates, but I've never tried them and I'm not sure about how different the technique will be. So any advice or comments are welcomed
@artwisty40483 жыл бұрын
For figure skating the closets would be rollerblades rather than roller skates however not just any roller blades will do. For the movements this man is doing you’d most likely get slalom roller blades rather than urban or athletic. Slalom rollerblades have very good ankle support while also being purposely light. Seba skates are the preferred brand. If you look intently near the end at the way it seems one wheel isnt touching the ground its because most slalom skaters ‘fully rocker’ their skates to get more maneuverability with the downside of less stability. Any rollerblades will do for movements like these but the best and recommended are slalom specific or at least free style. Seba can be expensive though so for some cheaper free ride skates most people as well as i would recommend FR skates the brand. They have the FR series which can be pretty good for some intermediate to advanced slalom type movements. I have seen a video of someone using some rollerblades with a similar look to ice skates though, the rollerblades even had a front brake to act as a sort of ice pick I believe ice skates have(I’m not a figure skater myself i have ice skated though). I dont know much about these rollerblades since that was the first time i had seen them to you could look into those also. To do what he was doing though there are plenty of slalom youtubers like Tiago inline skater I’d recommend. Once more note there are also brands like PowerSlide and RollerBlade trying to get into the slalom/freestyle rollerblades market that seem to be good as well PowerSlide especially. For more info I’d highly recommend Tiago and simply your own research on slalom/freestyle rollerblading.

I am not qualified to speak about figure skating (I can skate on ice, but not do anything interesting), but all the figure skaters I know who moonlight in rollerskating prefer quad rollerskates, the ones with 4 wheels in rectangular pattern - they say that the skateboard-like turning mechanism is much more "second nature" to them, although blades first look like a better option. So I think you should at least try both. But blades are a lot of fun too, and learning new skills has never hurt anyone :)
@Mrmhibbert3 жыл бұрын
You can buy a conversion kit, which is a frame and small wheels for your figure skating boots. I wouldn't recommend this though... Unless you are skating on smooth flat surfaces bigger wheels are your friends. I'd say 80mm upwards... But if you want more manoeuvrability then replacing the outer wheels to 76mm is a good start
