The Clouds are 2D (just like the default and turn when the camera turns and its very noticeable and immersion breaking. I don't understand how laminar research hasn't revamped cloud rendering. Even FSX has better clouds.

xops awa are you serious? The default clouds in xplane look great and they are 3D , IMO they look even better than some pay ware weather addons. Only Xenviro has definitely better clouds.

Fsx uses 2D clouds as well if I'm not mistaken

Good tutorial! IMHO Vivid Sky looks better in stormy/foggy conditions: it depicts what we call "the soup" with thicker clouds going further to the horizon. On the other side I think Cloud Art clouds look better with broken our scatter skies, as each individual cloud looks better and blends perfectly with the skies. Again, this is my opinion; would love to see a comparison video using both cloud sets in same weather conditions (that's quite a task).

I installed both Vivid Sky and Cloud Art -- Vivid Sky is MUCH better with performance and does look better. My only complaint about Vivid Sky is that the water looks exaggerated. Perhaps I can simply fix by reinstating default texture

Reshade - I have not checked lately but was under the impression it is not Vulkan ready as of yet. Have you tried it or can you comment on its compatibility. I higly advise you to give it a go with his Reshade preset, which use a payware Global Illumination shader, it drops some fps, but it just transform the look of x-plane so much! Great video!

Could you be more specific? There is this Cloud Art R version for reshade. Is the reshade preset you're mentioning included in it? What is this paywayre GI stuff? does it need to be bought somehow?

I'm a bit surprised how this would be compatible with Vulkan. I thought running scripts was a no-no in 11.50? Then out of curiosity, how come did you choose to install the reshade version of these clouds when you're not using Reshade? Which speaking about it would again be a no-no with Vulkan and 11.50 or maybe I'm missing something here?

I down loaded it but every time I adjust my clouds to be height, for example 1000feet they are always higher. ( much higher) I have been told Lau make the clouds work only in the higher levels.

Great tutorial once again Q8 pilot. For me, I don’t think these clouds are better than Xvision (VesPreset). They do look good and they are free but I will be sticking with Xvision. Once these clouds are compatible, then I will try. Just my 0.2c.

Just a quick notice. When you are updating the xplane installation the installer tries to restore the initial files and asks you if you want to proceed with that. You say no in order to keep the Cloud Art files or you installing them again from the beginning.

I just downloaded, wow it is amazing, thanks man. I'm flying MD 80 over San Diego, it didnt effect the FPS, I'm getting over 100 FPS through clouds with max object and high on reflection.

Hi there, thanks for this video and I have a silly question about fly with Lua. I've installed it and for some reason after that the weather is not refreshing or if it does after a certain altitude goes back as a clear skies...do you know by a chance how to fix that?

When you upgrade explane, make sure to skip the sky colors and cloud puffs. Then you should be fine.

I followed you installation instructions and it overwrote everything in my Resources folder. Traffic Global, Better Pushback, 124th ATC.... now X-Plane 11 won’t even open. I backed up everything first but it won’t even open when I put everything back. Any suggestions?

VividSky Vivid Sky (standalone version) and Clouds Art are two additions that do the same, but differently. Connecting them together makes no sense. Vivid Sky also has its own set of clouds and skycolors. If you don't use ActiveSky XP (which generates many layers of clouds), Clouds Art looks nicer, but unfortunately with ASXP there is a significant decrease in FPS (despite i have a good computer). As a result, I returned to Vivid Sky.

Vivid Sky is only sky replacement. I would recommend you to use vivid sky with Cloud Art. I also did this and get very good results :) EDIT: I mean Vivid Sky ,,Sky Replacement". Cloud Art is not compatible with xVision.
