I'm a Red Wings fan first and foremost but these playoffs have been an absolute treat to watch. I really enjoyed cheering for the Blues this round. Since I've become a fan of multiple teams it has become really satisfying to cheer for other teams and see their fan bases enjoy some big wins. I couldn't be happier for Blues fans! First off, congratulations to the STL Blues! Way to fight from the start of the season to now. Finish the job unlike what the sharks had in front of them in 2016. For the Sharks... sigh. Sad and disappointing but, expected. We've been at this for 20 years or so of regular playoff appearances with the rug pulled right underneath us in the spring. It is time to blow this mofo team up. We have no farm system with recent big trades. We went all in and the dealer won. So much star power for this team. The basement of the league is calling and the sooner the better. Take a look at the Sharks after the regular season. The last month was painful to watch. Bad defensively, poor starts, goaltending issues. Two games from the finals isn’t bad, but there are problems to deal with, most significant is age of some guys, and signing Pavs, Timo, Donskoi (whom I think just got snakebitten, he looks good on the ice), Thornton (I think he will be back), Nyquist, and whether you offer anything to a defensive liability in EK65. Suspect DW is making a few significant trades around July 1.

@@LawrenceLoik I get the salt but you can't say the Sharks were just lucky in games 5 and 6 against the Knights when we should have been out in game 5. Missed and bad calls aside we fought back and that was a legitimate push Vegas wasn't ready for. Even with the infamous call, which I completely agree should not have been a major, could have easily still been a Vegas win in Game 7 if they didn't just roll over after the call. Bad and missed calls happen in every series ever played and part of the game is adapting to that and taking advantage wherever possible. Every team deals with that dynamic

I’m 45 and I remember the Blues going to the playoffs every year during my high school years in the 80’s and my college years in the 90’s. I was starting to get a Cubs mentality about the Blues. The Cardinals kept the city going for years. Now, the damn near impossible has happened. Only problem is the St. Louis hasn’t beat Boston in anything in over 50 years. I’d feel better if Bob Gibson was on the bench.

One year ago, after Washington won CUP, I see on TV that it was 3 Teams who have longest history of "Not wining SC" - Washington, Toronto and St.Luis. and now Washington wins. So at that momnet, one year ago, I got that feeling - probably next will be Toronto or STL. And now here we are - almost sure STL will win this year and Toronto will win next 1-3 years as well. Will see how crazy it is and how sports "unpredictable".

its kind of crazy that a canadian team hasn't won the Stanley Cup since 1993. I think Toronto is cursed after they won 13 stanley cups so long ago. I think Calgary would probably be the first canadian team to win it after the long drought. The leafs fall in the 2013 playoffs have to be one of the most heartbreaking I could imagine.

The EK65 experiment is over. Agree I don't think he'll be coming back on both ends. Sharks should be reluctant to sign him with his injury bug and our cap issues. EK will likely return to the East Coast.

Great to see one of the teams that I cheer for get into the Finals! I can't say one bad thing about San Jose. When the hand pass happened even on here, not one rude comment from a Sharks fan. Are there exceptions, absolutely. There is good and bad in all groups of people. However of those who left a comment that I read, every one of them were at least civil! I respect those fans. It's rare to have that happen. Sharks fought hard and somehow the Blues came out on top. Great season for San Jose, Go Blues in the Stanley Cup Finals! Here's to the young lady with the terminal disease that she is fighting who is from Saint Louis and the team invited her to the game which is her ultimate wish! Classy move by the Blues.

I was born in 1975. Got interested in hockey in the late ‘80’s/early’90’s. I have LITERALLY, absolutely NO hyperbole, been waiting my entire life, for MY team to have a chance to get the cup...and here it is. And now, pessimistic as I can be, I feel like my team could CRUSH THE WORLD! (Yeah, there’s a bit of hyperbole there, but DAMN! I’M PUMPED!) And I’ve got to say...you look awful good in that Blues jersey! I have never waited up to see an upload...until tonight! Thanks Hockey Guy! I may even have to watch this one twice! And now for a bit of observation/superstition: all the “sweeps” in this playoffs have come from the Eastern conference. And all the teams who have “swept” a team have lost...in the next round (I think). Would not mind seeing that trend continue at all!

I shed my first happy tears for the Blues tonight after 24 years of watching the Blues. I think we exercised a lot of demons by finally winning the West. I’ve seen so many good hockey teams scratch and claw against dynasties and have to skate away as part of some other team’s triumph. It feels good to see the Blues writing a story where they’re the focus.
