Beautiful, relaxed arrangement of this classic. Nice RH stretch to deliver the last chord! And the tone, very woody and rich, is perfect for this. Well done, Greg.

The blues feel suits the song quite well. I have always thought that it should sung as blues, since such a celebration is the result of tribulation. You might say that it is the halfway point between blues and gospel, in a continuum which begins with soul. Come to think of it, that does as much justice to the subjects of those words as it does to the musical genres they designate.

Thanks, Rob. I liked the way it opened up the harmony as well. Happy (future) Tapping!

This is my favorite song and you did a fine job, Greg! What an excellent idea to play it at your aunt's funeral. I'll be watching more of your vids as I consider buying a Railboard. Question: Where did you get the lap-brace so that you can play the Stick sitting down?? - Peace!

This is absolutely beautiful. What kind of chapman stick are you using?

Lovely arrangement, Greg. What tuning do you use for this?
@gregplaysthestick9 жыл бұрын
Thanks Eliot!. This is in Baritone Melody, but as you can see, I have to get up pretty high on the board, thoughI find that very easy to accomplish the way the Stick is designed. Cheers!

Did you get one??? I can confirm that The Stick is damn difficult, There is this whole left brain / right brain thing going on when you play and its like playing 2 guitars at once. Hence why you hear many seemingly Odd compositions played on it. It lends it'self to a kind of obscure or distorted perception on standard music, You begin to see shapes rather than chords. I own #5805.
