Dual axle, Real shower, real toilet, real queen bed in the *PROPER* orientation, real oven, real microwave, outdoor kitchen and fridge with tv coax & awning. Theater seat or option for sofa, even had forethought of the little linen closet. The perfect towable *DOES* exist!

First season in my 2022 Surveyor Legend 276 BHLE. The mini outside sink usually serves as a holding place for cooking utensils (spatulas, tongs, etc.). Works well for it. I absolutely LOVE the mini griddle. Our floorplan has stools for a breakfast bar in the dinette storage. The flip up benches make sense for them, but honestly we just slide the stools under the table and use the bench storage for other things. Would definitely prefer a slide out/drawer type access vs the benches. We replaced the mattress after our first trip and haven't looked back. Solar panel is great for supplemental/trickle charging but wouldn't boondock with it. Overall, very happy with our Surveyor.

We just left the mattress with the dealer and replaced it with my husband’s orthopedic one and all is well! I’m guilty of using the outdoor sink for utensils, love how easy and accessible the area is to clean up. Love this trailer and setup.

Dueling sofa's sound like an interesting idea. It would feel bigger I bet. I love what they've done with the nooks by the bed! Absolutely the best I've seen. Lots of good storage, in and out. Really lacking in solar. Dinky panel in a big space. About the dinette storage. I appreciate the lift bench, and could take or leave a door. But my knees refuse getting on the floor, and will go into full temper tantrum mode when I have to get up off the floor. Give me standing access any day.

That is a pretty great layout. I totally agree on the tires, they really are not enough more money to make any real difference...better tires, better customer satisfaction...seems like a no brainer. The solar does seem a little minimalistic but at least there is something, would definitely have to upgrade that. Seems like a clean look and setup, a winner in my book. Thanks again Josh! I do wish I'd known about this RV before I bought my Freedom Express 252rbs. Almost exact same floorplan but this Surveyor does many things better. Shower and bathroom sink better. Bathroom cabinets better....my wife can't reach into the one on the 252rbs. Much better use of space behind the TV. Love the vacuum system. Looks like a little more kitchen counter space. Bedroom wardrobe cabinets WAY better designed. Love the slam latch exterior storage doors. Both RVs need Goodyear tires! Both need an accessory hitch. Don't mind the smaller outside kitchen on the Surveyor. More solar with an inverter would be nice. If I had seen the 2 RVs side by side before purchasing I'd have the Surveyor now.

Wow, this is an unexpected favorite floor plan of mine - I’m really impressed with Surveyor’s attention to detail, down to the mini struts and coat hangar locations. It has a great amount of counter space, and the couch/recliners are in the perfect spot. True queen size bed in private bedroom. Large bathroom. Amazing storage and cargo capacity. Factory hitch/ladder/disconnect/TPMS. They even included a second window for the theater seat I noticed (most others don’t). Wish there was a window in the bathroom, but that would be gravy. Here’s how I’d build mine: • Keep the dinette (I like to have a table to sit at with my laptop or meal). • Gas/Elec fridge for off grid, and keep factory standard solar • Add tank heaters • Add Goodyear tires and transfer over TPMS. I’m going to pay to replace the import tires anyway, so I wouldn’t mind paying a little more to get that integrated from the factory. What a winner of a unit. Well done to Surveyor.

Josh, thank you for doing what you do...I have been watching your videos since your Haylett days and they are very helpful and I greatly appreciate that you point out the pros and cons. I have made educated decisions based on the information you have shared. The Surveyor Legend 252RBLE is my next TT, taking delivery in a few weeks from Bish's. Some feedback you requested: Dinette storage, I VERY MUCH PREFER this access option over a door or drawer setup. A drawer would work okay but would significantly reduce the amount you could store. A door....nope! That requires getting down on the floor and doing a crab crawl to try and reach whatever is stored within. I am too old and too big for that so it would remain empty. I envision this space as perfect for small appliance storage while traveling between campsites: coffee maker, toaster, air fryer, etc. and in most cases accessed only during set up and break down. The camp kitchen is a plus. I have always wanted one but the floor plans I chose prevented having one. This one is small but sufficient for me because the main thing I will use is the drink fridge for soft drinks, not so soft drinks, and water. Also, the portability of the grill is a plus because if I don't plan to use it the shelf is available for other appliances or other purposes. Retractable shower door: In my current TT I have the same type of shower door. After about 5 years I love it and have had zero issues with it. The bedroom storage with cubbies: unbelievable!! By far the best configuration I have ever seen! And the walk-in pantry...just amazing! Key characteristics that impacted my decision to buy this floor plan: 1. Bed: 60 x 80 mattress space is a must with walk around room. I wish RV manufacturers would not even bother to include a mattress because I will have a new one ready to replace it the moment I take delivery. Also, I am surprised so many new RV's are offering king beds. I can understand the need but configuring the bedroom to handle a king bed significantly compromises the bedroom storage and appearance. 2. Ample kitchen storage, even better with a pantry. This is one of the best! 3. Ample camp side windows 4. Walkable roof with ladder 5. Ample tank capacity. Based on my years of camping that equates to minimum 40 gray and minimum 30 black. Currently have dual dump ports and I hate that...even with the additional gray tank it provides. 6. Length under 30 feet at a manageable weight for properly equipped 1/2 ton towing. 7. If one entry door rather than two, I want it close to the bedroom. 8. Bedroom with door. I want the bedroom as dark as possible for the occasional "sleep in" mornings and that is much easier when it can be closed off from the rest of the TT. 9. Theater seats across from a "larger than 32" TV". This theater seat doesn't have the built in heaters, massagers, lights, etc. but to be honest I have not used any of those more than once or twice in my current trailer. What I do need is nearby power which this has. 10. Surveyor seems to be aware of what is most important to the customer and has improved and evolved over the years yet the brand remains a good value. Some other comparable brands have not evolved or have priced themselves out of the reach of many conscientious RV'ers. This will be my first Surveyor but for about 15 years or so they have been in contention. This time Surveyor wins! My apologies, this is much longer than I intended, but THANK YOU!! What you do has helped so many RV'ers...not only with purchase decisions but also general knowledge and awareness of operational issues, towing best practices and even industry trends. Steve

I prefer side doors on the dinette seats to have a place to put and store store the table pedestal legs when in transit. In our TT we store our bottled water under there in plastic tubs.Which wouldn’t fit thru the top. Would want Goodyear Endurance tires. Would not want the Chinese tire bombs. They claim their dangerous. If they put 12 volt fridges in they should have adequate solar panels. Like the camp kitchen. Nice video Josh.

Quality standard features like an attached ladder, a small solar package, a porcelain toilet, a retractable shower door, a 3 burner cooktop with an oven, theater seating, a TV and a true queen bed make it much easier to overlook a Dollar Store 4” fart fan👍👍

Great video, Josh. The wife and I are just about ready to pull the trigger on this trailer. For the dinette: We love having a dinette. Our practice is to leave it down (almost always) as a bed for our dogs, but when we can’t eat outside, we enjoy having it as a place to eat. For the storage underneath, we agree with you, they should just have just put doors on the ends. Tires: Thank you for the TPMS, but on this price point, I almost expect higher end tires. Solar: We completely agree. Is there that big of a price difference between the 60W and a 200W panel? I think it would be swell for them to install a panel capable of keeping the fridge running. Even with its “short comings”, this is the unit we’ve chosen. There will be a few things we’ll be getting upgraded by our dealer. We’re getting excited!!

Would love a decent fan ether in the bathroom or bedroom as you suggested. I’m not sure what to do with the sofa/ recliners/ dinette situation maybe because the tv would be hard to relocate. I'm really impressed with this trailer. I would definitely upgrade the tires to a better quality brand. I also like the height of the ceiling because I'm tall myself. I would definitely swap out the knee knocker pedestal table for a free floating one. I would rather have drawers under the dinette seats. This is one that I will be considering when we buy our first travel trailer.

This checks almost every box for me. I like this configuration, good storage (love that pantry). The only thing missing is a second air as I live way down south. First thing I'd do to it is put better tires on it. Tank heaters, yes, just in case. Standard 200 watt solar and some inverted outlets. The Shaker-style cabinets are fine. Larger fan in the bathroom would be nice, as would drawers or doors (with custom sized totes) under the booths, and the battery disconnect and TPMS should be inside the cargo bay. I'd like a tootsie toaster, but you can buy free-standing ones, though you'd have to find a place to carry it. A wardrobe slide would take it over the top, though with a trade-off in weight and CC.

The 15K ac is more than enough for this size of rv. I have a Cougar this size with the same ac and stay cool in 100 degree weather. Now the noise level from these things will drive you crazy.

I would go with the standard sofa bed, so my daughter has a place to sleep that isn't on the dinette. I want the dinette. Add the tank heaters Change tires to Goodyear, or offer option. Increase the solar to 200 watts. Also increase the solar feed guage to allow for additional solar panels to be added on the roof. Not sure where the charge controler and inverter are located. Would be nice to have access and space to swap out these with more capable units if additional solar and batteries are added.

I wish there were more trailers like this out there. My wife and I are thinking about acquiring a trailer in the next couple years and something like this is exactly what we are looking for. Good tires are always a plus, that little cabinet below the TV seems sort of useless to me, love the amount of storage, and regular queen is outstanding as I am 6-2". To me it seems like the outdoor kitchen is maybe and afterthought and I wonder where the griddle is stored? If its stored in the "luggage bay" then that takes up a lot of room that I would want for other things.

As a 2021 240BHLE Surveyor owner, the shower curtain seems to work and I have yet to notice mildew but… I do let it dry a bit before I leave it open. I TOTALLY agree with moving to Goodyear tires as almost everyone in the Surveyor chat groups change them to Goodyear shortly after purchasing the TT. I changed mine to Goodyear recently as well. On the solar package, the standard 80 watt has met our needs on a standard 13volt battery with general lighting and running the refrigerator so I don’t need an upgraded solar or, for that matter, water tank heaters. Hopefully I provided feedback where you requested it!

I saved this video because this floorplan is a definite maybe for us. It's great for couples and an occasional extra camper or two. They put in features that I think are truly useful. The road mode is wide open. I think the dinette storage would be accessible in road/packing mode vs drawers. That being said when you're setup I think drawers are easier to use. I guess it depends on what your storing (games, bedding would be OK with the current pop the seat...). They nailed the bedside storage. Under the bed it would be nice to have drawers instead of the lift up The empty space by the cabinets and door is begging for a small cubbie and shoe garage. The biggest hold back would be the dog bowl sink in the camp kitchen. I think there is enough room in the bathroom storage to increase the height/width to increase the size of the outside refrigerator and put in a real sink. The last downer is the bumper doesn't have a hitch to mount bikes. Tank heaters would be nice for those nights it dips down to freezing as a safety, but maybe an add-on would be OK depending on where you live/camp.. 80 watts might be enough to be a battery tender, but not enough if you need to stay off grid for a couple of days. Tires might be OK for a year or two before they'd get replaced. I think where they cut some corners would be an annual upgrade of one thing or another.

Nice camper Josh. I would like to see at least access doors for the dinette or pull out drawers but I would keep the dinette .If it's cold or rainy I don't want to eat from the couch. Would also like to see more counter top in the kitchen and definitely in the bathroom. 200 Amp solar would be better and the good year tires. Thank you Josh for all you do showing these videos and your input about the features, always appreciated. By the way we have the squeeze shower door in our camper, no problems with it, or complaints.

Love the layout… would opt for sofa sleeper over dinette for guests but its great because you still have theater seats… of course would swap out mattress also!

Hi Josh! Great video. We bought 240BHLE last summer and love it so far. Emphatic YES to Goodyear Tires but so far no problem with our 'imports'. We don't have TPM sys but suggest the Ryobi ONE system cordless inflator. Makes checking pressure and inflate/deflate super easy. Factory solar fine and would suggest folks decide after trying out and seeing how they actually use the RV.

Keep your tires properly inflated. Don't drive faster than they're rated. And they will continue to serve you just fine. The vast majority of tire failures are a result of driving too fast on under inflated tires. And even the best tire can catch a screw. Can't blame a tire maker for that.

This hits a whole lot of buttons. We have friends with a Jayco 24RBS which is almost the same but doesn't have the bedroom door. Love that pantry and more counter space. My feedback? yes to the solar, Goodyear, tank heaters

Double couches, do away with the dinette'! Amazing trailer for one or two, so many features, slap more Solar panels and boondock for as long as I can. You might need a tape measure on the roof!(always tryin to help!)

I love the awning and the fact that it covers the kitchen! Nice unit all in all. A couple of things I would change: the bathroom sink/counter is on the dinky side, and I agree about the toilet. But on the other hand, the layout probably made the outside kitchen possible. Also, the RV mattresses are always a bone of contention with me. Why not offer a good mattress? Where do the factory issued mattresses end up if most owners replace them? I'd rather opt out of a mattress and get my own. Thanks for your videos, Josh!

And there's really no answer that applies across the board. So MFGs include something cheap to complete the look and idea knowing you'll likely want to invest some dollars to personalize your comfort Some folks ask "why not ship with NO mattress then?" To that I can tell you from years of experience if a mfg shipped RVs with no mattress they'd get their heads caved in with people saying "look how cheap and corner cutting they are" and the juice would not be worth the squeeze

For definite I would like the tank heaters. upgrade the tires .. ditch the slide out and just use theatre seating with a movable table. as for the solar. I am fine with minimal as I would want to rip it all out and put in a proper off grid system --- so it's all just lost money buying from the factory .. not sure about the insulation .. would prefer it to be the best they can instal and then on demand water heater ... otherwise I liked the size and most other features --- by the way... I appreciate you doing this Thank you

People have this idea that Goodyear tires are like invincible. If you wash your tire pressures load your vehicle evenly minimize heavy cornering try to avoid the potholes Westlake or trailer king tires will serve you just fine. I have two trailers I pull every day and follow those basic ideas I just wrote about you will greatly reduce your risk of any sort of Tire issue. Pay attention to the speeds trailer tires even if they say they are are not meant to go 80 miles an hour for 8 hours. Use your head you'll be fine

I agree. It’s a hot take but the fact is import tires are fine when maintained properly and driven at appropriate speeds Had someone ask me the other day how to make it safe to tow their rv 80mph Told them it wasn’t. Doesn’t matter what you do.

Be nice to have a no slide version with some "ottoman" benches (with storage) and a flip up table for eating. Also a dinofa table (maybe the same table?) that can go inside or out. Sit on to eat or hang with friends, put your feet up. Also, use the table for extra counter space.

We have never had a slide, but I love that even when traveling, we can use the bed and bath without opening the slide, and get to the closet and bathroom. So much space and easy to handle from highway to parking. I’m so glad we got to a few shows, the Surveyor was our first choice, and never saw one until we got to the lot to narrow our choices. Comfortable and easy to handle with our four door short bed half ton, our first Chevrolet truck.

A super amazing floor plan! Love the Ward and Pantry! Seriously wow! Water Capacity is a usual victim for ultra lites, would love to see 60 gallons or greater of Fresh Capacity. I could not tell where on the Trailer the Fresh water fill was, do you recall? (Front, mid, rear)? What type of Slide mechanism is used? Cant tell if thats Ram or Rack and Pinion... I'm super impressed with this trailer and love love love the Azdel and Aluminum structuring. As far as i've seen this is the only brand that does 30' with full Azdel sidewalls. I'm digging the upgrade (easy stuff) you want aspect to save cost. I think if you add on all the nice things talked in chat, the price would then be less of a value. i'm gobsmacked by the value provided, way to go Surveyor! #1 in value if you ask me. ~NerdHerd_Oregon

Favorite all time NASCAR drivers? Both retired, Darrel Waltrip & Jeff Gordon. Favorite current driver? I root for all of the Hendrick’s teams. Nice camper, here are my questions and opinions…. 1) I’d like to see the ladder just a little bit longer. It appeared to me that the first step from the bumper to the first ladder rung might be a bigger first step. 2) Is that bumper a storage bumper for the stinky sewer hose? If not then install one. 3 & 4) YES change out the tires 🛞 with Goodyears. Make it standard. I’d also would like two spares on the bumper, looks like there is room for them side by side. 5) And YES, more solar. When SHTF and you have to bug out from your home, everyone including their uncle Gary will be fighting for hotel rooms. If you have some form of RV you will have more options to lay your head down at. 5 & 6) Overall a nice unit. Does Bish’s carry the Brinkley brand? Do you carry all brands at all stores or is certain brands only at certain stores?

Speaking of if you happen to come across half ton towables with a dedicated office/desk space I'd love to see them. Most I've seen have too small of a desktop. I have 3 monitors for work and looking to go full digital nomad.

I love the layout on this and the weight is great.. I agree with Bert 100%. Needs Goodyears, more solar and default tank heaters. How does the quality compare to Rockwood MiniLites Josh? I've got an F-150 with the 2.7 and full tow but I'm only going to be comfortable with about 6000lbs max which is why this looks interesting to me. I'd love a 2506s but that 900lb dry tongue weight is a non-starter.

Great half-ton towable layout, love the vac option. Would scrap the dinette for a decent two-seat sofa/convert-a-bed & a stowable folding table that could be used outside as well. Regarding the theater seating, spec greater seat width by getting rid of the narrow shelf & put USB access in the wall or the seat itself. The storage is legit, weight capacities are exceptional. Would definitely want Goodyear rubber on this. The camp kitchen is a bit "gadgety" for my tastes. Eliminate the "sink" to increase the actual grill size if possible. Other than those first-world criticisms, its a dandy.

I love this RV! But no fireplace is disappointing, and the tiny solar package? I’ll bet it’s expensive to upgrade to 200-400W prep.. We have used ours a lot, and clean it regularly and leave it closed to dry, hasn’t been an issue, but don’t tow it closed was advised. The top rail seems a little flimsy, but have tightened the screws after a long haul, no problem. Really glad we bought this one, comfortable and easy to care for.

Here's my 2.75 cents worth ( inflation ) . Get rid of the outside speakers and increase the solar at least to( minimum ) 200 !! Also I know it's just me but I will never use a " camp stove " of any make or model that close to my trailer . We have a class C that we removed the outside kitchen and use the space now for a old school Coleman camp stove that we have a steel foldable table that we use to put it on away from our motor home . Ive seen more than one person blacken and even damage there trailer / motor home by using this feature at to high of heat . All in all this is a very very nice trailer .
