Absolutely nailed it with the seating!!! Love it when there is an actual conversation area instead of the inline seating that takes up a giant super slide side of a rig.

Someone else said this and I agree 100%. This would be 5 stars with more counter space and the way to do it is: 1. Move the fridge to where the pantry is beside the theatre seats 2. Extend the counter across to the wall and add another power tower in the corner 3. Have an upper and lower pantry above and below the new counter space. It will be less pantry space overall but the extra counter space would be fantastic. 4. Make sure the fridge is pushed out to the edge of the slide so you don't bonk your head on the top of the slide looking in the fridge and keep that rear external storage door behind it 5. Ditch the DVD player in the bedroom and just give us a good 12V (42") smart TV 6. Let's all ditch USB-A outlets and move to USB-C outlets in the power towers and around the trailer

A flip up bedroom side stand would be a plus. When there is a rainy day I would like a 40” TV. Just make the side cabinets smaller and add a swivel for 40”TV. 1800 watt inverter? Go for a 3000 watt inverter appropriate wiring for a future solar power. We love Rockwood quality. ❤

A flip shelf up on the left of the bed would be nice. I'd add an open cabinet with a couple shelves that have a lip on that left side as well. It would be great for a couple of pillows or blankets. It does have good storage and window coverage. Nice standard options. You might not see the structure and suspension, but will appreciate it. Great video.

Yes to flip up side-stand. If it could be open to outside storage it could be a dirty clothes hamper. Also, now that I’ve seen in one of your other videos that ridiculously high TVs can be on a drop down mount, all manufacturers should adopt this.

Short queen, lack of counter space, and I’d like to add it’s heavy. If you compare it to the Grand Design 23LDE, it’s about 700 lbs heavier. Which with my 5.3L 1500 Silverado, it’s close to maxing out my towing capacity.

I think the hitch weight is going to be a problem for some half tons. All the extra weight added to the bed of the truck and the camper storage compartment, bedroom is going to make the hitch weight well over 1000 pounds.

Looks very good... But, you knew there was a but, coming, didn't you? It's time for the RV industry to just plain stop having a few dedicated outlets connected to an Inverter. All outlets should be wired to the inverter. Now I know someone will say, but, Tom, there is not enough juice from the inverter to run all the outlets. Someone will likely plug to many things in and blow the inverter. Yes, that could happen, but that is what circuit breakers are for. We already are use to the idea that you can't plug everything in to an outlet and turn them all on at once. Thats the way our homes already work now, a large power input usually 200 amps distributed to many outlets. If you added up each outlets power handling capabilities in your house, you would easily exceed that 200 amp input. It's time the RV industry stop thinking solar and inverters are a specialty item, they no longer are and they should be treated as just a normal part of the RV's wiring. When plugged into shore power all the AC circuits are energized, When running on battery all the ac circuits are energized, and it's up to us to not over load the system. And if we do, one or more circuit breakers open. It really is that simple. OK, stepping down off my soapbox, and in closing I'd like to thank you for all the great reviews, and how about a more in depth look at the various trailer suspension systems?
@JoshtheRVNerd
@JoshtheRVNerd 11 ай бұрын
More brands are getting on the full inverter train but it’s a slippery slope. Everything we add while nice starts hitting the price tag Lot of folks like me don’t need heavy inversion or solar. Majority of users still park camp with hookups

@TomsTechHouse
@TomsTechHouse 11 ай бұрын
Just to clarify, I'm not suggesting RV's should be equipped with big bad inverters. I'm only saying any inverter if installed should be wired to the RV's distribution panel and not to individual ac sockets I believe this is not addition cost, but cost reduction by standardizing all wiring being the same regardless of any solar options an individual my choose ( including none). It also reduces service cost by creating a standard wiring and component layout in an entire RV family. @@JoshtheRVNerd

I think i'd like this plan better if the fridge was where the pantry is and the storage be under and over an extended counter, but I also know that would require it be a few inches longer and it wouldn't stick to the 26' model limit. I like this new model and love that Rockwood Minilites have standard features that are optional in many other manufacturers models. The passthrough storage is cavernous. If the towing vehicle can deal with the big tongue weight, you can go glamping with all your comfort stuff stored there. I hope like Lance, a heavy duty pull-out tray could be standard. If not, some kind of tie-down feature. The new feature I love the most is the knock-off of the Dometic double hinged fridge, I saw it many years ago on Leisure Travel Vans. I been waiting for it. I'm glad they keep using the 12V DVD TV The storage in the bedroom is absurd.

Josh, you gotta check out the 25SRK. It’s possibly the trailer that might dethrone the 22MLS, it’s that good. Dinette and sofa, huge bathroom because it’s a pass-through, roomy kitchen, and it’s a foot less length. And in typical “Rockstaff” fashion, there are premium choices all over. Gotta say, it’s a sweet one from pictures I’ve seen, haven’t caught it in person yet.

Hey!! Crazy Uncle Gary just had an idea! I haven't seen one in person, so I can't speak for the clearances, but what about some sort of thin folding shelf attached to the back of the dinette seat on the door side? Pretty sure it would only allow partial opening of the fridge while it's up, but what I'm wondering is, will the fridge door clear while it's folded down? 2nd quick question. How bad of a two-step would one have to do if they subbed in a queen size mattress? Is it at least do-able?

Not bad as it stands. I'd rather they use that whole space where the pantry is (instead of the outside storage behind), with deep shelves all the way back, but with space between them and the door to give room for a broom\mop\swiffer\stickvac, etc. Camp queen bed--very few people keep the back breaker mattress, so as long as you can scoot by the foot it's going to be replaced with a regular queen anyway. A flip-up top hidden storage space next to the bed would be a dandy space to hide mister Glock.

Seems like a nice TT. Wouldn’t buy a TT with that kind of table. If the had a large pies of wood underneath you could replace it with a single leg . Also don’t like the small fold open drawer under the sink. Make it match the other drawers length. Not sure how fiberglass roof would hold up to walking on. Maybe 1/16 alum sheet would be better. Nice video Josh. Lets boycott the products in the ads before video.

Hi Josh, really like this model. But we are mostly doing offgrid camping and would really prefer the gas & electric fridge. I looked on their website and this type of fridge is still an option. Is this right? Is there any other models similar to this that offers thisd type of fridge?

I think they went away from the free standing table. All the videos I see now have the "legless" table, attached to the wall. What would have been cool, would have been a free standing table, that could adjust up to (almost) counter height, so you could move it over a bit, for food prep & cleanup duty.

Hello Josh! Like a lot of the features shown here on this model! Just wondering on this; is it a "two-headed sewer monster" for your drain tank(s), or is there on main connection for the gray tank(s)? Overall, I think this floor plan has a lot of potential! Thanks as always for the great video presentation! All the Best! ~Lou

@joshthervnerd - Will the 1800w inverter and 600w of solar and 2, 100w batteries run the A/C when boondocking? Apologies for the long question 😅
@JoshtheRVNerd
@JoshtheRVNerd 10 ай бұрын
Not a long question at all Short answer: Definitely not Need about a 3,000w inverter to run an A/C And 600w or even 1200w of solar will not completely offset the A/C use. In fact the a/c will still likely deplete the batteries within several hours If you want to run an A/C while boondocking, then you really want to be considering a generator

I really like this camper but I’m struggling to find it in my area (within a few hundred miles). Is that because it’s to new? The closest Bish’s with it is Idaho and I’m on the East coast. What other campers are just like it/very similar?

I think they need to redo this into a 28-foot trailer. The kitchen needs more countertop. The bathroom needs to be a bit bigger for a pass-through, and the funky step-up in the bedroom just seems like they were trying to stuff everything in. A couple feet more - make mini lites up to 28 feet :)

Saw this camper at the Hershey RV show. My wife and I really like this one, and it’s on our very short list to purchase in 2 years. Maybe by then they’ll figure out how to keep the fiberglass (Filon?) roof from blowing off the RV. 😂 This is one of the few campers in this size range that offer a dinette and sofa w/o needing a Murphy bed. We really like it. I’d love for Rockwood to put out 28’ trailers. The Ultralights starting at 30’ start to become a handful, but I wonder if there is a market for 28’ ‘Sorta MiniLites’ ????
