The Baka live in the forests in Cameroon. Their traditional hut, the mongulu, is a finely crafted design woven from thin saplings and covered in maranta leaves. They move periodically and practice a little forest agriculture.

@@whyjamaica1422 I read a story where a group of baka made shelters, and the unmarried men didn't get one, and just slept in a cuddle pile outside. So it seems like there is something of a gender role at play in the house building. But maybe those particular bachelors just felt like a cuddle pile idk.

The women build the house and men just come in to chill. Nothing wrong with that. But am inclined to ask the modern day woman "When did women stop building their own houses and move to a man's house?" Second question: "Whst exactly does a woman need from a man in marriage that she can't for herself?"

@Tim O'Brien or anyone really, I getting ready to move out of AmeriKa (hopefully before the end of May 2019) myself in hopefully 6 months....I am currently looking for land to purchase to live OFF-grid and be fully self-sustainable (solar panel & battery storage, rainwater catchment, biogas system[having an outhouse toilet running into it], and own fruit[take years to start giving edible frutit], root, & vegetable for food) with simple house structure for sleep (will be purchasing solar cooker, with back up biogas cooker for times when outdoor solar cooker is a great inconvenience). I don't know where in the world I will end up yet (but I know it won't be ANYWHERE in North America to include Canada), it seems like you enjoy the nomadic experience, whether you have lived in 26 homes in 12 years (your comment doesn't really clarify), but I don't plan on moving....just buying an acre/hectare or more....someplace that has road access (because unfortunately I have a ball & chain mustang just purchased[built online myself] last year, hence the trapping of a car that I current owe TWICE if what's it's worth....so I will be shipping it to whatever country I am moving to [hopefully, lenders will allow it or I will have to waste the money up front as opposed to having it available to go towards whatever land and or building purchase which would suck....but so is life I guess). So I am wondering how you came about on your selection? And where? I need someplace that is relatively safe without government (country or local) being a pest trying to restrict what type of housing structure, etc. nor trying to tax me to death once I have purchased the land cash. Any pointers?
