That pony mustn't have seen a farrier in months. The next step is to have a vet out to do a full blood profile to look for any underlying conditions and to get the medication needed to control the pain and reduce the blood pressure in the foot.

Poor little pony. The person who neglected her needs to be in jail Heartbreaking. Thank this man who saved her.

It doesn't work like that.When cases of neglect like this get to court the accused just says to the judge that they've been depressed from a family loss, or that they're in the midst of a family crisis & the judge let's them off

This is called "slipper foot"' out here in the West and it is caused by keeping an equine confined to a small space for a long period of time with no foot attention.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say she got laminitis from having horrificly overgrown hooves.
@kwgrid11 жыл бұрын
I thought laminitis was an inflammation of the internal lining of the hoof causing swelling and extreme pain. This pony looks like it was just in a desperate, long overdue need of a hoof trim. Maybe I'm missing something here.
@maryahern16186 жыл бұрын
I call it a bad case of neglect. Laminitis is different altogether.

why is the dog allowed to eat the excess off the ground? that can't be good or healthy

i hope this horse owner? was fined, and had all his horses removed, including Shirley. he hasnt brushed them, done their feet, nothing. he should never be allowed to own animals. yes, it is a good ending, BUT it is one that should never have started!
