Kipkay...since you obviously realise that this doesn't work....why did you bother to put it up? Is it that you didn't realise before you made it (not too sharp then)...but do now, and like the sound of your own voice? 2 things: I'd recommend figuring out an adjustable housing for your laser, and adding an arm brace. These will make your slingshot more stable and more accurate. The arm brace can be made by adding 2 bolts perpendicular to the handle and connecting them with a piece of leather or cloth.

I made myself one of those "lame tree branch" slingshots, and I still love it today. The branch is about 3cm thick at the handle, and 2cm at the tip. With a pear of 3/4x1/10x8 inche rubber bands on each side. Had to use a tube, which I could stick in the ground to stabilize the hole thing. Just to be able to use all the force storeble in those rubber bands. Shooting 0,3-0,5kg Mangos almost 30m high is a lot of fun. And surly isn`t easy to pull. (younger brother secure hehe) keep up the work.

As a kid, I used to use marbles as ammo. Another good ammo is the kind of pea gravel used in landscaping. Though you have to be selective, as irregular shaped stones tend to veer off target.

If you are from the "Iron Range" of northeastern Minnesota you have TONS of the absolute best (and cheapest) slingshot ammo! It's the processed iron nuggets that fall off the trains as they are transported to Duluth for shipment. They are the size of a small marble and absolutely round. PERFECT!

Instead of binding those rubber bands on the top, you should just tie them horizontally. The upward motion of the bands disrupts the trajectory of the projectile right at the end of the firing process. You can see that by the downward motion of the laser beam after the shot, caused by the recoil of the bands.

I live out in Thailand and cars are sooo expensive, would love some one to come up with a reverse trike with a roof and a side door -2 wheels front and one behind , seats two with the economy of a bike but with out getting wet and fairly cheep to buy and run . Half a bike and half a car and half the price .

Cool project, but the fork is about 3 times higher than needed so the power of the slingshot is way smaller than it could be. And pistachious are pretty expensive ammo and I don't feel like eating them from ground and they are also too light which also reduces the power so I thing small rocks would be a way better ammo.

for awesome quality slingshots and tutorials for them, look up Joerg sprave, PFshooter and billyhays. On the net, look up the 'slingshotforum' I get ideas for my slingshots from there, for a small shooter for BB's use a wire hanger and get creative, I made one using size 64 rubber bands and chickpeas (yes peas will work) and penetrated some cans with it, good shooting! :) Hope I helped with your slingshto craze though :) I'm a slingshot nut as well!

First of all, I would use shorter bolts. About two inches. Works better. More control, in addition to that, more accuracy. And my very favorite ammo are marbles. Very smooth and thick. Totally recommended.
