Its technical name, the IG-227 Hailfire-class droid tank. This droid served a very singular purpose; Charge the enemy and launch a storm of missiles the moment within firing range. If you're still rolling, blast as many clones as possible until destroyed. A cheap and effective tool during large-scale attacks, and not very useful outside of its limited role.

I loved the hailfire droid. I was a little disappointed it didn't make an appearance in the Clone Wars, and given that it apparently wasn't that effective, I understand why. It could've made for an excellent mobile artillery battery, using "shoot-and-scoot" tactics to swiftly unload some rockets at the enemy before speeding to cover and reloading to launch another barrage.

You guys should consider putting multiple designs of one ship in the same scale so more designers can get spotlighted. Bousker has great stuff, and Thomas Jenkins' gunship deserves all the recognition possible

The current AT-TE design collapses under it's own weight. Aesthetically speaking, David B's designs are incredible, but AT-AP and AT-TE can't support thier own weight, even when you don't touch or move it.

The wheels are SOOO clever! I had been trying how to use those gear pieces to spin as a wheel, but this design simply has the chains rotate over the large gear hoops. Genius! I am definitely sold on the design

I kinda wish I had the 2015 set of this, but it’s rarely ever available on the second hand market. It would be nice if Lego released a modern version at some point, but there are loads of things from Attack of the Clones that also need a remake/first ever model.

I wouldn't call this minifigure scale... Just looking at the source video that you show the battle droids next to it are a lot larger than a lego one would be. loos amazing tho

To be fair, they're kinda limited by the wheel pieces available in Lego. This is probably the most accurate size thats possible.

Wow, you guys finally did it! I can’t remember how long I’ve been suggesting the Hailfire droid, and it’s finally here. Although, the main head/body of the droid looks a little off, but it’s hard to place. It might be a little too wide, I’m not sure. Anyways, with how tricky it is to make these, I don’t blame the designer, but perhaps it’s something to think about in a V.2?

I had no idea this droid was that big in universe. I made a dark blue version by copying most of the 2015 set’s design. I also took the wheel design from Hachiroku.

Would be awesome if Lego did this set with 32 stud shooters, the ones with the long projectile stacked as the 4x4 batteries, and then run your fingers over them to trigger them just like in Episode II

A fine edition to my collection. Buttt, it is a real bummer that it can’t roll on the ground. I’m not huge in playability, but simple functions like movement is a huge reason why I and I’m sure others won’t buy. It is incredible looking tho

Technically it’s possible but the brown sections on the wheels prevent them from smoothly gliding along the black technic wheel pieces

This is not minifigure scale, too big. But I know when you design the wheels they dictate the rest of the models size. and unfortunately you only have a small selection of suitable parts to make rings that are stable enough to support the model. The missile modules are missing a notch it should only carry 30 rockets not 32.
