Im so happy that theyre making Siyeon and Yoohyeon having back to back ad libs and harmonization together like this. They both just sounds amazing together because they contrast to each other. And Handong is just so good at making her lines so addictive and charming. And Gahyeon have such a unique tone in her voice when she sings so I'm so happy to hear her clear voice in this comeback.

Her Solo album and additional training most likely had a huge hand in that. She got such an amazing response from everyone. I like comparing her first scream performance she did for the drive in festival to BOCA immediately afterwards. In Scream she's a little reserved and soft, but in BOCA she seems to have loosened up and gotten comfortable on stage again. She projected more and just sounded so much better.

8:13 I agree. I think Yoohyeon’s vocal style is smoother and more gentle yet still powerful and Siyeon’s vocal style is way more power based and has more of a “rock tone”. Both are definitely an acquired taste but still two amazing vocalist from Dreamcatcher. I feel like everyone in dreamcatcher has such a distinct tone and style. it’s so good.

I'm the most impressed about Handong's effortless and super stable singing. Also, it was about time Jiu was allowed to sing the chorus again. She used to sing a lot more challenging parts in earlier DC and was indeed getting very overlooked. However, I wouldn't want to be in the producers shoes and deciding who out of all those amazing vocalists gets to sing what. What an amazing problem to have honestly. They did a great job with the line distribution for this song. love it!

Live vocal is always better than studio one. Because when a singer sing live, they make a small mistake / imperfections and that makes the live performance way better than a "perfect" studio recording. *An artwork without a flaw is boring.*

I think when talking about Gahyeon and Handong’s improvement it’s important to remember that they were trainees for the least amount of time of all the Dreamcatcher members. They only had six months before the debut compared to Yoohyeon and Dami’s 1.5 years, Siyeon and JiU’s 2.5, and Sua’s FIVE. Of course they've always been very talented, but they’ve also had to learn a lot of technique on the job over the last few years that the others had time to learn beforehand. It’s so great to see how much they’ve grown!

Oh nice, I just tweeted this to you not long ago. Glad you decided to address the vocals. They've all improved from BOCA, especially Gahyeon, and SuA. HanDong has massively improved, her confidence is way up there, and just seems to have made her a better overall performer. I think her solo album had a huge role in that, which is great for Dreamcatcher and InSomnia both.

Things I noticed personally throughout. (no where near as qualified as you are to critique) JiU belting is becoming more and more common, which is nice to get power from her. not just sweet and soft. She had that really nice belt in Red Sun from ToL. Dami is less "shakey" when she's singing, a lot more stable during the bridge. SuA would be a very powerful vocalist if she had a bit more control over her power, I think she pushes her notes a bit too much and they start to sound strained.(to me at least) I'm biased here: Gahyeon's confidence just leaps ahead of where it was in BOCA. Her breath control improved dramatically between then and now (she seemed to be almost gasping for air during her second rap during the Esquire performance) She has been working with Siyeon(source: Sera Ryu interview) to improve her technique, this just shows the fruits of that labor.

This is actually one of my favorite performances as well. They showed who was singing, even though I know their voices, and knew who was singing, I loved being able to actually see them singing their parts. Got my limited edition Road to Utopia album Friday. JiYoo is my bias, so always want something of either Jiu or Yoohyeon. I ended up with 3 different cards of Siyeon, lol. The big picture was of Gahyeon in the hat. Totally beautiful. I was just hoping for at least 1 thing Jiu or Yoohyeon. Especially since Yoohyeon is bias wrecking me this comeback, even though she's already my bias.

SuA, Gahyeon and Handong have improved considerably in 2021. SuA is reported to have overcome her health problem with her voice, as she had nodules in her vocal cords, because of her powerful natural voice. I agree that Gahyeon and Handong are more confident. JiU always backs off to allow her members to shine and we miss so much from her. Her and Handong should be allowed to belt more.

God this comeback is EVERYTHING. This is definitely their most fair line distribution and we love to see it. Handong being back really breathed new energy into this comeback. Her voice impressed me so much this time, her lines are my favorites. I've always loved her voice but damn, you can really hear the confidence now. And it's great to have Jiu on the chorus again. She's become so known for her soft and sweet vocals, it's easy to forget sometimes that she can have some power in her voice too. She's a very nice contrast to Siyeon's and Sua's sharper voices imo. Siyeon of course is my bias but... what more can be said about Siyeon lmao

Loved your reaction to Odd Eye! I know I'm so late to this video, but just in case if you do see this comment... What are your comments/thoughts about Siyeon's belting vs. Solar's belting? I love them both so much, but I feel like Siyeon's belting is so powerful while sounding so full (is that the right word?). Solar is obviously such a great vocalist and can definitely belt though.
