His 5 Channel amp seems perfect for most people. 4 x 250W @ 2Ohm and a sub gets 1800W @ 1Ohm. Its a bit pricey but its not bad for what you're getting. I just wish the sensor panel was flush mounted.

JP33 at $450 seems like a far better buy if you want an efficient 3K that will do more than rated at every OHM load. These look cool, but theyre a cheaper circuit design and you can just get an EXL from DS18 if you want this circuit type for a lot less. Then, you can buy a VM1 and put it anywhere.

review feels a bit inconsitent with past reviews. The miss on 4 ohm I don't think you would have easily passed. The lack of .8 ohm is turned into a positive on protect mode and the cost per watt seems high. The efficiency at 62 is low. I am a big fan of SMD but these amps could be better

thanks for the awesome video! I think just a small bump in voltage, like .2 or .3v and it may have done those certified numbers in 2 and 4 ohms a little nicer. But it did it's numbers up to clipping which is more than acceptable and has always been. At least it still did it's CERTIFIED numbers at 1ohm (and much more) which is all most people really care about anyway. Nobody buys a 3k monoblock amp rated at 1ohm and runs it at 4. If you do that, it still kicks ass, but that is not what it is meant for :). This is our first batch and we are waiting to see how everything is doing. We will make changes and improvements based on how everything plays out as these amps start landing in peoples cars. If there are any issues, they will be addressed. Thanks again Mr. Big D Wiz bro!

Just out of curiosity, and if you’re ok sharing. What sample size is used when generating the advertised power ratings for your amps? Did you test some % of the build run and then use that to determine a number? Do you test 100% of the production run and use that to get the numbers? Do you have any that don’t make spec? This sort of thing is interesting to me because I am a nerd. 😂

It’s a beautiful amp. A showpiece. And yeah, ain’t nobody gonna run these at 4 ohms. 1 ohm only and it performed well. Good stuff. I would expect this price point for an amp like this. I'd like to add some constructive criticism, because this is a very nice looking amp. It's just that these days information is free flowing and our(the consumer) understanding is more comprehensive than ever. Honestly if your installing an amp of this caliber at this price point there's a few things to be expected. Quality vs price, what's out in the market now vs what makes yours different. Prices are definitely coming down on car audio. Make it worth it.

I believe all amp analyses should be consistent. Honest criticism is essential, regardless of the brand or whether a review copy is provided. If Meade's products can't withstand scrutiny, he should ensure their quality before production. Even his own dyno equipment supports this, which is great to see. Credit should be given where it's due, but it's unfair to see Williston being inconsistent. Meade has banned me from commenting on a video before for criticizing his SMD Meters, so it's not surprising that you had to pin a comment about 'disrespectful' remarks when most are just stating facts. Hope it's a learning lesson so you can improve on your videos.

Tons of respect to you mr. Meade. But he ran the one ohm test with a higher resting voltage of 15volts. Its the only reason it got that higher one ohm number respectively. All the other runs were generally 14.5 volts. No Joe Six Pack daily driver cars are charging at 15 volts. Usually 13.9 - 14.5 volts. Mr. D. Williston did rite by us. 👍

You know, when amplifiers started trending towards manufacturers overrating their specs, we all got irritated, knowing that the 3000-watt amp wasn't really producing the stated output. Hence, the amp dyno was born. Now, it's not enough for an amp to meet its rated specs. We want amps that far far exceed its stated specs, or it doesn't meet our expectations.

My only issue with these tests is the voltage. Not many vehicles get 14.5 volts. Definitely nit picky here but normally it's closer to 13.5-14 volts. I'd like to see how they perform at those lower voltages. Is there a big difference?

Greater than 80% efficient is also NOT 74% (Again seems like you are being BIASED) - Would go in a Show car? You would lose points for those DS18 stickers on the CAPS, not even straight...maybe that's the Rainbows (LEDs) fault? haha! I'm GLAD it went into protect to save itself... but... we ALL wanted to see .5ohm and .25 ohm etc... There is definitely some "FRIEND" Bias going on here. Would just like you to be consistent. The manual/spec sheet actually states greater than 86% efficient at 4 OHM. So, did Big D just make a mistake, or was he trying to make it sound like the amp wasn't a good 12% lower than the advertised efficiency? Kind of hard to market an amp that's only 74% efficient at 4 OHM when every other Korean amp is doing that at 1 OHM. Hell, the seven year old SKAR SKV2 has a better circuit and is way more efficient and powerful than this 3K, while being $250 less, right now.

Very nice video. I like Smd videos too, long time subscriber. He does answer my inquiries. Btw, I purchased a Sound Q Qubed F1-3000, bass knob sold separately. They launched their F series this year. Will it be possible to make a video. I have not seen or heard anyone having this Sound Q Qubed F1-3000 as their amp, it sounded alright, better than my old AB ST-3000. I think it is Brazilian design. You know after seeing the results. Hard pass. Because it is a SMD backed amp I expect better performance. If He was testing it he would give it hell for not making rated power. Now I know it’s still a lot of power but you stated a power and didn’t make it. Looks are great. But I’ll take efficiency and accurate numbers. But I’m sure V2 series of these will be a beast.

You even would say rate it what is say and you be ok.and this was before lithium and high end battery set ups. I understand your business angle and believe me for price point and power not bad. At the end of the day I have to base my opinion on off the hard core Meade values in testing. Very little head room on rms I don’t expect that from you others yes. When I think of your product I see pound for proud a beast mode I own several of your smd products never disappointed. But when I see a SMD amp rated for example at 2500 and you put that baby on dyno and it slaps you with 3k or more. So don’t take it as a hate it’s constructive criticism. You my friend have build a brand from ground up and that brand is you,you have never ever been a just nearly made the goal. You always met and exceeded any thing you attempted so that’s why I said v2 gonna be a beast!

I think the protection circuit is just really set to safe as to be reminded, the 0.8 on the Dyno is equivalent to 0.5 or less with speakers

Ehh was seriously looking at this but not making/exceeding rated at lower ohms with good voltage is con to me. Couple that w average efficiency, i think I'll look elsewhere for now.

It did make and exceed its rated power by far at lower ohms. You mean 2 and 4? It did it there too. Certified 1% was just a little low by a couple watts at the higher impedances. But up to clipping, which is pretty standard, it exceeded it's ratings easily.

Ofc there's more to an amp then raw numbers but one can't say it's a small part either when it comes to comparing one to another

@@dannyphantom5201 this amp is designed to be played at 1ohm and it more than exceeded the ratings in all modes at 1ohm. A couple of watts (in certified mode) can be gained back on those 2 and 4 ohm tests with just a slight bit more power. Perhaps just .2 or .3v. Up to clipping on the 2 and 4 ohm tests, it exceeded it's ratings. Not that big of a deal.

We both know impedance rise is going to affect that and we both know that while playing music the ohm load is going to fluctuate, not stay at 1ohm the whole time. Not being a hater but also not going to glaze simply because it's got smd on the amp
