How loud are the pedal buttons? Got my answer at 20:24 ... WAY too loud for my needs. At this point I think all the functions described in this video can be set up in an Ableton Remote Script for any device (except the double-click - have to think about that). I'm using STC - Selected Track Control - which contains all the needed code and is triggered by MIDI Notes or CC's. That even lets me put triggers for looping **on my drum pad** I can start a loop with my fingers while I'm playing. Thanks for the great video, Teatro - Well Done!!!

And continuing on in the video ... the feedback functions (LED flashing while recording - in tempo) are very cool and can't easily be done in a remote script of your own (or through STC). But I'm still hung up on the volume of the pedal clicks. I know it's hard (read expen$ive) to build quiet, non-bounce switches into a device, so maybe a Blackstar Foot Pedal PLUS (or Two, or NextGen) with just better switches would be a big win ...

Hi Taetro - at the 18:00 minute mark in the video, you show how you start and stop clips and how you delete them by holding down the switch. I have this foot controller and am not able to stop or delete clips. When I double tap or hold down the switch, the clip repeats from the beginning. Did you have to do some programming in the device to achieve this functionality? Please shed some light on how you do this. I am stumped! Thanks in advance.

Hey man I have a question: in ABLETON template script mode, when I remap switches 6 to play and 7 to stop.. For some reason it triggers play on the press of the button, and also on the release of the button. It’s creating a double trigger because the trigger on the press and trigger on the release? I’m super confused as in how to turn it off.. I have tried to change the settings, toggle/ momentary etc. won’t work. Any ideas?

Hi . I just bought the Live logic midi foot controller . I'm facing an issue . Whenever I am midi mapping any of the buttons on live logic foot controller to any parameter on the Ableton Live , as soon as I let go of the button on the foot controller , the parameter on Ableton Live turns off. It only stays on till the time I am pressing on the button of the foot controller , even though all the settings on the software are exactly the same as mentioned in almost every tutorial online . Please help

Where did you find the instructions on how to use the pedal in ableton mode? it seems like blackstar does not care to inform us on how to use this thing properly - the manual does not talk about the extra functionality and i cant find any other documentation online. great performance btw. it looks like a very cool product from how you presented it, but i can't decide if i'm going to pull the trigger on this one, or on the airstep by xsonic, which can be programmed to send regular old keyboard commands, as well as midi and up to 8 different sequential messages per button, so i wonder if i could make it work the same way, while being wireless at the same time. thanks! cheers

@@linzkirk I was kind of unimpressed with the feature set of the Blackstar so I started to look into how Ableton sets up external controllers and it looks like I can use the GAFC footswitch that works with my Boss Katana amp which would be superior because it has it's own power for the switch and also natively controls all of these different amp effects. Assuming I can figure out the Ableton programming I can potentially route the Ableton midi performances back to my hardware instruments and play/record/loop like a mad synth villain with footswitches and guitar! Haha, winter projects...

@@johncaccioppo1142 I don't know this pedal, but it seems from what i've seen online it does not have USB or MIDI. if so what your saying may not be possible, or maybe your connecting the Katana via usb and then its recognised as a midi switch? The Blackstar has a simple Ableton script, yes its simple, but it does what it does well. It can also be midi mapped to Ableton to control any function of Ableton.

I have recently purchased the Live Logic Midi Controller. I can midi map and record a clip, but when I hold down the switch, or double tap it, or single tap it again, the recorded clip restarts. I am unable to stop the clip or delete it or record a new clip. The Blackstar owners manual does not explain this functionality at all, unfortunately. I have updated the firmware but still no improvement. Any suggestions as to what I can do to fix this issue?

Hi TAETRO, I'm working on a setup for live looping and editing of drums and percussions, using Ableton Live 11 and Push 2. I long for a midi foot pedal just like the Blackstar one. How about using two of them if I have more than 6 tracks, e.G. 12? Or is there any 'bank shift' functionality coming with the pedal/script?

Mine wasn't working, someone on one of these videos explained how to load the firmware on Windows after open up the updater firmware and then you have to load the firmware which is a separate download put all the stuff on my desktop so I open the updater and then I loaded the firmware itself into the updater and it gave me the option to load it I did and it completed up loading it and now my MIDI controller works perfectly I'm so glad I saw that person's recommendation because it saved me from mailing this thing away it works fine now it is awesome I use one to record play overdub to to stop everything on the Looper 3 to clear it for reverse 5 tap Tempo and six stops it from the top screen player so it's kind of a hard stop I opened the Looper in the master track once I get a multi USB port I will be able to add guitar stuff and midi keyboard stuff as well all into the master track
