Thank so much for the kind words. I am the exhibition manager of BWWMRC I am truly grateful for you coming taking videos of the layouts. I hope to be able to beat the selection of layouts next year.

Great film, some nicely captured footage, and of our layout Folly Lane with its working level crossing. To say those in the Kitchen thought they had a faulty cooking appliance tells you how loud the crossing alarm is 😂.

Though judging by the video, the crossing itself still needs a little adjustment ;-)

My pleasure - I had decent amount of footage from Folly Lane to choose from so there may be a standalone video at some point in the future. I did wonder how popular your crossing alarm would be with the layouts around you 😅 Thanks for watching 👍

Im 46 and could never understand the interest in model railways even though I'm a model maker myself. Why sit there and watch a train go around a track over n over. But as I've got older, and especially these past few years, I've realised its more than that. It incorperates model building, and also sense of nostalgia. Re-creating scenes from bygone ages, and having the freedom to do it how you want, and pushing yourself to create as realistic scene as possible. Now I'm older and enjoy building things more and more, I would get one if I had the room.

Creating the right atmosphere for a scene is definitely a big part of the model railway hobby. I would also say as well that it's not just about watching a train go round in a circle. For a lot of people, creating realistic operating sequences is a big part of the fun or shunting wagons on smaller layouts. I once built a model railway inside a suitcase (with the progress documented on this channel) so if you're looking for a layout you can fit in a small space that might give you some ideas. Thanks for watching 😃
