The figures of people appearing in the background, I think, only emphasize the complexity of the work done, so many different details to build into one logical chain is painstaking work! There's a vid of this layout form a few years ago and it features a cab ride. If you've ever been on a train through a busy city yard to the suburbs you can really feel a change in mood as you travel out from the center. This layout seems to be able to replicate the feeling quite by accident no doubt but it's there.

Wow! What wonderful detail and the weathering effects. My mind was blown by the time it took to place the simulated overhead power lines and what appears to be telephone lines. The rock walls are a thing of beauty. The rails and adjacent areas look especially spectacular. This entire layout is a thing of love to observe.

Simply the best I’ve seen and I’ve seen a lot. I’ve always loved the look of city scape over country side mix. Your mix of 2D background blending into 3D structures coupled with the life of people and vehicles brings emotions to an era long gone. Touché. On the Laid back music background.

During the late 40's and 50's, Athearn produced HO stamped metal boxcars and reefer kits with wood cores, wire grab irons, and sprung metal trucks. They are still available on e-bay and I run mine, updated with KD couplers and added weight, on my own layout.

This just made my saturday morning. I've seen many model layouts before, but this one is an incredible masterpiece with every detail technically correct and tastefully incorporated, note for example the functionally and visually perfect design of the overhead wiring of the mainline and the streetcar. So much soul in all those scenes and also in the video itself with equally soulful background music!

I have seen this layout featured on youtube before. I like all the catenary wiring. It looks so realistic. The buildings seem custom made and that makes it also so realistic. The details are not forgotten. It is what makes a big difference. NICE!

At 1:44 shows how railway modellers can use their imagination to create things using everyday items. The structure in the foreground has a self sealing bottle top on it but painted black and then weathered, in a way concealing what it really is. It may have been from a drink bottle or a dish washing detergent bottle.

The amount of detail is staggering! I still have trouble finding out what is the era of the layout. 70's? 80's? 90's? Lots of the equipment seems antique but there are some fairly new cars too.
