@@expatcrib Hello. I am the owner. I lived in Colombia in this area for 4 1/2 years and I never had a problem. I am an American (and I look like it! - light skin, tall, blue eyes ;-0) and as long as you avoid known bad areas (like bad parts of Medellin - the closest major city - 5 million people) you are very unlikely to have a problem. This is the same as if you go to any large US city (say the south side of Chicago) in the wrong neighborhood at the wrong time of night. I found people to be very kind and friendly and willing to help (like with the language if you don't speak Spanish). This region is known as one of the best in all of Colombia. I call El Retiro, the closest town, the Mill Valley of Colombia. Mill Valley is on the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge and where the the (real) rich people of San Francisco live.
