I've literally downloaded Pixinsight yesterday and have now installed the trials of The Star, Blur and Noise tools. I haven't used Photoshop since 2008, so this can only go well. I've had a few days off, and whilst most people would be doing things around the house etc, I chose to binge on tutorials and "how to's". My head is buzzing with sensory overload! Great vid Luke. @D. Fresh A few years back I used to image with Meade DSI II & III in LRGB but only had occasional success. Based on Lukomatico's recommendation I bought this camera 3 months back. Absolutely cracking little camera that has given me my best astroimages ever. HH & Rosette thru a WO Zenithstar 71 with L-Extreme filter are my background images on the 4K tv. Yep, they look that good.... You'll want PixInsight or similar as well for the processing. Many thanks for all your work @Lukomatico!

Thanks for all the great videos. Have a question on this. OSC I see how you went about it. I just don’t know or understand why your image is green to start with. That is a major requirement for this to work. What adjustment are you making to the image before starting the process. Thank you.
@lukomatico11 ай бұрын
Thanks mate! - The image is generally green to start with when you've done no background extraction/light pollution removal - you can preview it without the green if you'd like by 'unlinking' the STF stretch by clicking the little chain icon next to it :-)
@anthonygraham644911 ай бұрын
I usually stack in app and save the fits unstreched. But mine is always red with black background. I’ll play around with it. But I’m doing something or importing it in a way that it is color correcting it. You have green and yellow on a ha target. So something is amiss with how we are starting.

Hey, when I use Curves to bring up the RGB channels, only a very slight movement makes the entire image Red (or B, G). Pulling down the shadow side doesn’t lower the darks. It pulls all the color out. I literally can only move the line 1/16” or so before the color is either fully red or gone. Any idea what is going on? I have Medusa with a Quad band filter. A screen stretch shows all the colors. But I can’t enhance like you do.
@lukomatico7 ай бұрын
Hey mate! Data often behaves like that if you're trying to stretch while already viewing the STF stretched data, - make sure your data is stretched/nonlinear first, and that STF is reset 👍 Good luck!

The process is nice to show ( even if actually you can get the same result by a selective curve manipulation).
