Manuel is an amazing innovator and classicist. He is a conservator of the past yet is trailblazing a future for American perfumery. Bravo!

Love the concept. Totally agree that leather can have that rogue aspect. Definitely a challenge working with naturals too. Many of them could easily be perfumes on their own. Appreciate the interview Steven! I'm a fan of Manuel's work!

What a coincidence, I JUST received my Tabac Vert by Rogue Perfumery 10 minutes ago in the mail. That joins my bottles of Bon Monsieur and Fougere L'Aube to represent my personal Rogue Perfumery collection thus far. I'm a Fougere guy so the two Fougeres are my favorites.

Bon Monsieur to me smells very generic like Head&Shoulders men's shampoo but Fougere L'Aube is a masterpiece!!! Although my number one and signature perfume from Rogue is Mousse Illuminee.

Oh I love leather. Especially when it is mixed with gourmands. I find it gives a sexy edge. Would you have a feminine recommendation like this (sweet, gourmand + leather)? Loved hearing about this! So cool
@pandemicneetbux21102 жыл бұрын
Not so sure about the +leather part, but literally one of my favourite scents is Mystic Experience by Initio which has this very sweet, gourmand, like cherry chocolate sugary hint of vanilla thing almost going on, suppose you could layer it with a leather though defeats the point. Man in Black is probably way too masculine but definitely hits that leather note super well after a very boozy open. I also find Side Effect's super boozy open with slight tobacco almost leathery floral kinda nice, don't think it has leather as a note though?

@@DanielleNicoleMakeup Yeah buy some samples. Leather, spice, booziness, amber are some of my favourite notes, usually mixed with some woodiness, slight sweetness in vanilla or something but I keep finding out my most liked fragrances all are considered "spicy amber" or "woody leather" or something like that without me even smelling it, like the way Armani Code EDP is called "leather" but I don't even smell the leather note itself really. Or Code EDT. Or a lot of other codes. I do think Profumo by Armani is super sweet and very feminine, to the point of me questioning even wearing it and certainly not work appropriate, but it does get described as a "spicy amber" and that supposedly has a "tonka, amber, and leather" base. But I do like that too, despite not consciously smelling the leather either. So if you like more sweet and feminine leaning (to my nose) alleged leather-amber fragrances with amber, tonka, etc. you could try a Profumo sample. I absolutely do think any woman between 20-60 could easily pull that one off despite it being allegedly male. It's hard to describe the sweetness, almost like it wants to go in a floral or gourmand direction and can't make up its mind so it settles into a leathery amber instead.

Hey man, you know anything about Vivamor Parfums? Seems to be same people behind Navitus. Seems like they have that same group of perfumers (solid group) and just released an 11 cologne line

Hi Steven- you should not just recommend anything what works for you. I bought that Royal Crown celebration because you recommended to us few weeks ago.. It is a good smelling perfume BUT its only last for 10 minutes..PLEASE do not recommend such a perfume to us..we spent our hard earned money what you recommend so please make sure what you know . Honestly I am so disappointed and don't know what to do with this terrible bottle. I paid $405 and it is not worth $20 in my mind.
