Wonderful dancing. I like it when he smiles! I'm glad dancers keep doing their wonderful stuff in these difficult times. I'm from the USA, so I don't care for the present aggressive & dangerous situation; but artists aren't politicians, and I admire them and wish them well.. as I do the common Russian People.

Ringht! I often heard the artists have to stop working: but imo the normal russian people dont decide in the kreml and it would be very bad to leave the folks without their culture. I do also respect the leaving artists. What would I do in such a situation? I`m not sure - I dont know.

His teacher, N. Tsiskaridze (sp?), is like Leschetizky, a famous 19th century teacher of many great 20th century pianists. Tsiskaridze has taught many great dancers, like a Leschetizky of ballet. This new principal has beautiful form and grace in Don Quixote - Gerashchenko. And in Nutcracker as a student still, he was a superb partner. And look at those flying leaps in Paquita, again as a student. Tsiskaridze must have adored him. No wonder Balanchine always remembered and was inspired by his early Russian training. The Russian method - Vaganova - has something the other great companies like the Royal and NYC Ballet lack - and that is emotional involvement. No good manners here. I had forgotten that Russian audiences clap in unison during the performance!

@anastasialenkova-molchalin58742 жыл бұрын
@Ivelina Pancheva Nowadays it's a mixed bag. Many people are still happy to talk about aesthetics, but some are "body positive". It is refreshing to read these comments and to know that some people remain capable of separating Russia’s actions in Ukraine from its amazing and immense cultural legacy. Also that some can separate the Russian people, gulled by propaganda just as we are, from official Russian state acts. Bravo to you commentators and bravo to Egor as well. Russia remains an enigma wrapped in a mystery encased in a matryoshka doll for so many, a country both sad and grand, a culture late to the world stage but which has given the world so much in music, dance and literature.
