"I don't paint wood." That's what I usually say, but your pieces are absolutely beautiful. You make mid-century pieces POP into the twenty-first century. Your sense of color is a gift. I just refinish antiques for a hobby. Two hints I learned from an Italian cabinet-maker in the 1950s that no one seems to know. First, when using screws (new or old), rub the screw along a piece of Ivory soap until all the grooves are covered. Then they won't ever rust and when the soap hardens it keeps the bond very tight. It also make the screw go in easily. Secondly, when there is a loose joint but the rest of the piece is fine, inject a small amount of piano pin oil. A drop will cause the wood to swell to fit. It gets into the smallest voids and makes them swell up working around the old glue. Pin oil is not cheap or easy to find--but it works wonders. It dissolves plastic instantly so I suggest using a glass eye dropper. It is my sincere hope your channel soars.

Hi there! I started watching your videos due to my interest in the topic. When I saw how good you are at what you do, I continued enjoying them. Then I discovered something I had not expected. I struggle with stress, anxiety and major sleeping problems, and I use medicine for my issues almost every day. But your voice is so happy, warm and comfortable, that it makes me feel relaxed and safe. So now I watch your videos both for educational reasons, entertainment, and to fall asleep. I normally watch two of them every night, and then I have to go back to watch the second part of the last one next morning. 😄 I alternate between your videos, Nicola White and The Northern Mudlarks. You all have the same effect on me. Happy voices from what I believe to be good people. So thank you so much for what you do here on KZbin, and thanks for helping me cutting back on the meds! My OCD loves your workmanship, your nicely organized shop, your eye for detail--the hardware, the tiny clean veneer fixes, getting the perfect colors, etc. The color wash was spot on.
