no shot 46 C delta between hotspot and gpu temp is "good" or normal even Thats the same delta that the defective reference coolers had which would make gpu thermal throttle

The delta is fine as long as its within spec. These cards really need an undervolt to drop temps. My taichi 7900 xtx has a pretty gnarly delta as well but i have 0 throttling. Hit 3.2ghz in the last of us and junction stays below 95c, core around 60.

Also those temps are at 463 watts, when i reduce power by 10%(360 watts) the clock speed drops to 3ghz. i lose 4-5 frames but temps drop drastically.

​@@brandon9491 at this point why not buy a 7900 xt instead? undervolting does not mean perse that it will be cooler (well, in normal cases yes, but it still allow amd to boost, and higher at that likely which result in increase performance)

I just got the 7900xtx so do i use literally 3 separate 8 pin cables or is there a cable that only tskes up one slot on ur gpu but then splits to 3 to plug into the 7900xtx

Funkykit : I have an AMD RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 reference edition and I've build these reference models in multiple rigs in the last 3 years and there wasn't a single example that exhibited troubles with the Tjunction temperatures. These are temperatures inside the GPU chip and are ment for LN2 overclockers to see when they reach the treshhold for the silicium that can go up to 160°C - 170°C....getting up to 110°C is completely fine and it doesn't represent any real temperature that anyone should be worried about. Those were just lies spread through videos of bribed selfproclaimed reviewers that Nvidia launched in their classic anti-competitive fashion. max peak GPU temp = 67°C max peak MEMORY junction temp = 70°C max peak GPU hot spot = 81°C max peak VRM 1 / 2 temp = 70,5°C max peak total GPU PWR consumption = 291 Watts continuous GPU frequency = 2570 MHz That's for my example.

do not plug an rgb cable from you mobo in the port on the gpu. this is not what its for and can blow the gpu worst case! its for connecting another rgb strip to, not into the mobo! asrock really need to be clearer about that

The RX7900XTX is a joke for its name. Top next gen model? I dont think so. With that performance it should be named as a RX 7800XT and not even more. The performance increase to the last generation is just to small. Even against a 3090ti its losing while using raytracing. Nvidia is totally the way to go. That extra price is worth it. AMD starts to dissapoint again. I expected way more after the RX6000 series.

Ray Tracing is the biggest scam in GPU history. Create a "problem" to sell the "fix". Pure 4K gaming is the way to go. No fake frames/upscale bullcrap.

This isn’t the first time a new rendering system has been introduced and the current (of that time) hardware had trouble using it. This is just how things work.
