Thanks for all the great info. I adjusted the motor down a bit so my lug belt would move. My feed dogs are not feeding my fabric forward (works great in reverse tho)...is that related to the motor do you think? Tks. Laurel

+Laurel Roth - Hi Laurel, Much delay in responding...very sorry. No, the motor does not control the directional function of the machine. In the rear of your machine there is a ball joint that pivots up and down to shift the drive of the machine, and this can become dry, not allowing the necessary transition. If you want to explore this feel free, or have a local service provider do it for you. Happy New Year, Scott

I will be hemming a silk dress (very lightweight) with my 130 . Is the feed-dog adjustment the main adjustment I'd be working with to sew finer materials ? I usually just use it for denim and canvas , etc . Thanks for your time !

Hi Lisa., Your machine only allows you to drop or raise the feed dogs, so they will be fully engaged to move your material. Reduce presser foot pressure, and use an attachment foot that will allow the material to glide over the feed dogs. Be careful to not pull or push the silk through the needle, and use a Schmetz 70 or smaller needle. You might also consider a stabilizer with the silk that can be pealed off, or Sulky offers one that washes away after your sewing is complete. Mercerized Cotton thread is the best, since its breaking point is very low, and this better protects the delicate material from being torn or damaged while sewing. Lastly, try keeping your sewing tension minimal, and your stitches on the smaller size. I'm sure the dress will turn out gorgeous! All the best, Scott

Guten Morgen..habe eine Pfaff 260 und eine Dürkopp von ca 1895. die pfaff 260 ist immer wieder verstählt.Die Dürkopp ist eine satlermaschiene..war anfangs sehr verostet..nun leuft sie langsamm wieder...eine Pfaff 130 Bekomme ich auch noch..ich schaue schon immer bei ebay...

holger novac - Wenn Ihre Maschine wurde auch zunächst arbeiten , aber jetzt läuft langsam , prüfen, indem Sie ein paar Tropfen Kerosin in den Grundschmierstellen, und auch in den Motorschmieranschlüsse. Den Motor mit voller Geschwindigkeit für etwa 45 Sekunden , bei ausgekuppeltem Motor , und auch mit dem Nähfuß in der oberen Position tätig. Dies sollte die Leistung der Maschine zu helfen. What the difference between a 130 and a 130-6 ?

The machines are virtually identical from the front, but on the back of the ORIGINAL unaltered 130-6, you have a unique attachment called the Automatic 50010, also referred to as the "Coffee Grinder," which can generate up to 54 stitches. Not quite as impressive as the America n Beauty featured on my channel that boosts of 80+, but still amazing, and German engineering at its best...!! Motor sizes can also vary, ranging from 1.0 up to 1.3 amps. Good sewing, and thanks for visiting my channel.....Scott

That is an original unaltered 130-6, and it has the "Coffee Grinder" I mentioned in my previous note.If the attachment works, it could be a keeper, and with a bit of bartering perhaps the price will drop.
