I like your comment on it very much, respecting both singers... Dimash and Piet ... in their own style, capacities, potentials, texture and personality... This is not about competition or whatever... It's not about hitting the highest whisle note... In the contrary : this is taking the basics of this beautifull song for what it is and give it her own glory, based on what the singers can do and perform and doing this in the most charming way... I say it maybe with others words but this was your message to your audience about the performance of this song...

This guy seems to be struggling quite a bit. He doesn't have a true soprano voice like Dimash but appears to stretch his falsetto upward, which is the reason he sounds sort of thin. If you don't know Dimash, this may be impressive. But as soon as you heard Dimash, it pales in comparison. And you certainly did hear Dimash enough to know better...

Piets interpretation of this song is brilliant. If you watch the words in English and his interpretation of the meaning of the song through his emotions, it is absolutely stunning. I really appreciate that. He made it his own and did not have a lot of belting through the song because it is actually a very dark, sensitive emotional piece. It was a beautiful artistic performance. This sounds like he's using both, auto-tuned and pitch correction. I'd be impressed if he was singing live.... also, he's mixing both, the original version (which is beautiful) and Dimash'es that is even better. Sorry, it didn't do it for me, but it's always a pleasure seeing you! 💜&☮️ from Spain

I first heard audio version of this song approximately 10 years ago. Singer called Laurent Ban sang it then. I immediately loved the song. Singing was impressive and emotional. Arrangement was more in rock style with electric guitar. 2 years ago heard Dimash’s version and liked too. Versions of other artists don’t impress much. Even original ones. I think this song really needs powerful voice. Fil, glad to see you safe and healthy. 💜

I listened to Dimash sing SOS 2021 for the hundreth plus time, after listening to Piet, {today was my first time hearing this young man} I will be honest I also listened to some of his recordings he has no colour, no nuances nothing to draw one in and he really goes flat a lot. He could be great if he wanted to take music seriously get a good vocal coach and study. He is a boring performer probably more appealing to the younger people. I do wish him success. I also checked out some vocal coach reations to Piet and to my surprise they were honest and questioned his capabilities as having help in a techical way

Heard one of the bigger vocalcoatches call the whistle "obviously" pitchcorrected and autotuned. And a couple of not as famous vocalcoaches saying the same thing...

Piet was debunked, later he acknowledged digital enhances in his SOS mix so it is not his real voice despite he has a really good vocal instrument.

Dynamics are everything when singing something as vulnerable as this song. To Dimash is a one trick pony showing off belting at an incredible range - interesting but artistically a lack of comprehension of what he's actually singing.

Having the instrument is one thing. Being a virtuoso at playing it is another. Dimash has so much to him there is really no comparison. This is why just attention to octaves only misses the whole point of being a singer.

Pitch correction, auto tune, and whistle notes made by a computer - interesting. Would be nice to hear a live performance instead of such a very evident heavily edited one. Liked the arrangement, very ’thin’ voice, but can’t take away that he is a very good singer. If we are comparing him to Dimash (as most seem to be) then sorry - NO ONE can compare to that man. Over-flowing in talent, a voice richness in quality, depth & emotion. Technically he’s on a whole other level! Good effort for trying - shame it wasn’t live.

Lol... All you guys have to do is watch his other videos from probably 10 years ago when he was very young until now... The boys exceptionally gifted. Really. one of a kind. I wish he had the advantages that dimash and some of the others have because he really deserves to be recognized. Even with his meager beginnings and struggles, he is obviously not just a showman, but an artist. He has a beautiful instrument and he knows how to use it.

I'm not the biggest fan of Piet, but the arrangement is good. it's different, and his voice is mainly good. The whistle was impressive. Not many men can use whistle notes, but something about this version makes me think tuned. I have no proof. I'm not a singer, just instincts of being an avid music listener. Hell, at first, Dimash's voice felt impossible to me, but hearing it live, in person, on top of the hundreds of videos I've seen, there is no doubt now. I would love to see/hear Piet live, to prove me wrong. I dont expect the whistle notes live, but at least the base song.

I'm curious which comments this video will get. There are several issues with Piet. It seems the video has been heavily edited and several people accused him of using pitch shifting etc. His former management promised a live version a few years ago. We are still waiting.... His upper register sounds good and there is no doubt that he can whistle, but the question is how much of what he did in this video can he actually sing without any editing. One of his ex friends also wrote some comments on YT that he doesn't like Dimash at all and just mentioned him as idol because of his popularity. Well, coming from an ex friend, you have to take that with a grain of salt of course. However, he's a good singer.

Although I liked most of it, I think the treble is too post-produced, I didn't find it pleasant. The best versions are those of Daniel Balavoine, obviously, and Dimash, without a doubt, for me.

Tuvo y tiene mucha controversia porque jamás la ha cantado en directo y además esos tonos de silbido se ven exagerados con su rango de voz... Me parece que hay trampa oculta, no como Dimash, que la ejecuta de cientos de formas y siempre en directo. Dimash no ofrece dudas, Pierre sí y bastantes. Un saludo.

Neither Dimash nor Piet are native French speakers, but Piet's pronunciation seems significantly more native-like to me. Far fewer mistakes.

Actually I am a native French speaker and I can tell you that Dimash's French now is better that Piet! Although admittedly his pronunciation wasn't the best in 2017, it is now very good.
