But on the flip side, they had a job, and families were being provided for. Some simply may not have the education level, money to go to be educated further, or they are simply stuck in life atm taking what they can get. A job is a job when you are forced into that position. It pays bills and possibly keeps a roof over your head. I happen to love what I do now being a Journeyman in my trade, I can't say I've loved working doing what other things I've done to stay alive.

@leighmackay7486
@leighmackay7486 3 жыл бұрын
That's a good question. Likely someone did the math before purchasing a robot. Certainly the first pallet was the most expensive. The next one was half that. Given time it will be pennies per pallet. Also manpower, while doing non strenuous tasks, may function as quality control. They see what the machine cannot. Cheers.

Nice looking EXPENSIVE ROBOT you’d be far better off with a different system, that’s far cheaper and also faster, the OHS is not good, and use of energy not well thought out regarding resting position of nail gun that should be directly in front of the operator and assisted with an overhead reel set at correct pre load. This is a classic Add on a system..on the fly versus looking at big picture integration.
@DavidD-qr2vn
@DavidD-qr2vn 3 жыл бұрын
Robots are not expensive. They are much cheaper than building dedicated automation. The placement of the components done by humans in this video would also be realatively easily transferred to the robot doing it. The operation for humans then becomes loading bulk material, removing finished pallets, reloading the nail guns and keeping the system running and clear of faults.
@colinjones5209
@colinjones5209 3 жыл бұрын
@@DavidD-qr2vn A dedicated process like pallets is better done by a purpose built machine, that has feed slots for timber, and a conveyor to run under nail guns, an entire concept...front to back. Far faster, far more efficient, and far cheaper in the long run. Fixed costs of a building and its operating costs comes into play, if you triple your productivity, which you can. Annual maths on this stacks up.

You can buy a good robot for 30k. They will run 20 years 24/7 with little repair. The math talks $$

Yeah, if a human premakes all the pieces, and handplaces them out in a jig, a robot can nail them together and lift the pallet out of the jig... This multi million dollar robot takes away one small part of the process that the human could do just as fast
@Vinterfrid
@Vinterfrid 3 жыл бұрын
Or the other way around - the robot could easily do the part that the humans are doing...probably a lot more faster too. To me it seems like the factory owner fully hasn't understood the capability of an industrial robot.

Multi-million dollar robot? Not quite. People are so afraid of automation lol it increases quality, process control, and also creates a lot more jobs than most people realize.

Если честно вижу в этом только нецелесообразности и абсурд! Поддон стоит 100₽ а этот робот 10-15 миллионов если не больше. С его скоростью он никогда не окупится

But now too pallets are plastic, for certain environments, and to not let bugs and stuff into certain countrys, and are reusable, after being cleaned, lot of wood pallets are not allowed unless fumigated

Lazy programmer. Robot always starts nailing from the left size increasing production time and additional wasted motion and energy.

What happens when there’s 50,000,000 people out of work? Oh, I forgot, the factory owners couldn’t care less. I think it’s going to get ugly around here.
