Any time! I should do a shop tour like the big channels. The problem is my shop is always a mess because I am always in the middle of a dozen different projects.

Hongdui tools are outstanding. Beautiful, precise, and sturdy. Second to none IMO. It looks like Wnew and Enjoywood are stepping up their game. They have always been nice, but it looks like they're catching up to Hongdui.

I have a lot of tools. My Hongdui are the highest quality tools I have. Enjoywood and Wnew are making some nice tools but are not as precision as Hongdui. I noticed the Hongdui miter gauge price has come down a lot since I bought mine. Competition helps keep prices in check.

thanks for the review ,looking at miter gages and have the same problem more room on one side .

The Hongdui is the better miter gauge, but the Enjoywood is reversible. I had the Kregg one before. Both of these are in a completely different class when it comes to quality. I still have not been able to decide which one I am keeping and which one I am selling.

At 25:17, a process for aligning the miter fence with the blade is shown. This is less accurate (and harder to do) than simply aligning the fence with the miter bar.

On the coping sled, usually they have a sacrificial backer board to keep from blowing out the end. With the alignment blocks, I don't see a way to mount one. - Chris
@ShopRamblings4 ай бұрын
I haven't had a chance to use it a lot. The alignment block can be moved. The main thing would be the size of what you are routing. I belive a backer could be attached with one clamp and the other clamp to hole the work piece.

Banggood shipping, minimum 2 weeks. Same item from Amazon maybe a dollar more, received in 3 days
@ShopRamblings3 ай бұрын
On some items, you are right. I always check prices on several different sites. On most items I get from them, they are not available on Amazon or are much more expensive. It all depends on what you get.

Thanks for the review Sir, very well done. I think I like the Hongdou one personally and I will probably buy one. Do you have any input on the clear cut stock guides? Thanks for sharing

I have both the Jessem and the Hungdui versions. I did a side by side comparison video on them. You should check it out.

But with the hongdui you cant use it on the left side because of the measurement that you cant reverse right? But you can still put it on the left side and use it and measure what you need to measure manually right? Im sure you can still use it on the left
@ShopRamblings4 күн бұрын
That is correct. It is the measurement and the extension that you cant use.

@ShopRamblings so overall which one would you reckon I'm looking for one of them
@liquidrockaquatics39004 ай бұрын
I like the Cali-rule. I would probably be more likely to use it than a caliper unless I needed extreme accuracy
@ShopRamblings4 ай бұрын
I have bought tools before that took me some time to figure out how to use them. Once i did then I used them all the time. I am going to keep it and see if this is one of those tools.

@@ShopRamblings I think it’s more of a convenience thing/ form factor for me; I also am a huge fan of those rulers that have the little sliders with thumb screws so that you can lock a measurement and save it or get a better look lol

I was 11 years old when the UK switched to metric units, my woodwork teacher kept on using imperial measurements so it's what I learned. I now use metric because it's easier though I can work in either. Just learn the metric system it takes about 10 minutes because you will only use 3 units metres, centimetres and millimetres. It will save you messing up a nice tool too. As for 100ths of a millimetre who needs that level of spurious accuracy? The run out on your table saw blade is probably much more than that. In short you are never going to cut to that level of precision.

I agree metric is much better. It my take 10 minutes to learn. It takes years to learn fractions and Standard measurements. After using standard measurement over 50 years my brain just automatically will say that is a quarter inch instead of that is 6.37mm. I do a lot of computer designing. I do it all in metrics so I am getting better. The tape measure I carry in my apron was both metric and standard measurement. Realistically small items my mind can size in metrics but I can't look at something and say if it is 40cm or 50cm. I wish we would had swapped in the 80's when they started to.

21:05 "The other bad thing is it is in metric." Most of the world uses metric. We don't say imperial is "bad". Just the there is a better system out there. 😀

Learn to measure in metric measurements! Would you much rather find half of 1000mm or half of 3 foot 3 inches and 24/64ths? Ready, set go. My answer is 500mm what is your answer for half of the Imperial measurement?

If you've watched some of my other videos are I have said many times that I do not understand why the United States does not use the metric system like the rest of the world. I agree, It is a far superior measuring system, and I even researched it. It was one of the founding fathers, I think, possibly Ben Franklin, who was opposed to it because of political reasons when they tried to implement it in the US. However, it doesn't matter if it's better or worse, if you have done anything for over 50 years, that becomes second nature, whereas trying to learn something new. That is opposed to what you have done your entire life is still difficult even if it is a better system.

“Both standard and millimeter measurements.” The metric system (as it’s known) IS the world’s standard. In fact, the official inch, as defined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology is described in metric units.

Relax pardner. In America, we use imperial. Its not a race. 24/64ths. WTF?😅
