Awesome. VR is perfect for stuff like this. I'd love to see more historic reconstructions in VR. the best I have available to me is Assassin's Creed Nexus on Meta Quest. But tho a very good game, the maps are not that big, Athens for instance is just a couple blocks near the walls, the rest is background scenery. Still amazing experience, just taking in the sights, watching workers and people NPCs on the streets and the assets are AAA-grade, so at least looks very authentic... I wish full AC series games are one day fully ported to VR, even without all the fighting or game elements. They're a treasure trove...

I used to be a visualization artist at Bergmann Assoc., before that exhibit design, and even earlier a 2D/3D artist in the e-learning field. This is amazing. I was a 3DS MAX guy too, but when my license got corrupted or something I got no love from AutoDesk, so I switched over to Blender. I'm not going back. This project has really taught me that UE is great for visualization. You've done a great job. Forget what the haters say - they're just grumpy because Mom won't buy them a car. the super old one is here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmqwg6uGeLGesKM Like I said, it needs updating, but this does show one way to do it, and that is to migrate an entire project into an existing VR template project that already works. The other way is to go the opposite direction, and just add the VR template functionality to your project using the content browser. In that instance, you have to do a few other things to make it work, though, like make the VR pawn auto possess player 0, and change the game mode to the VR template one instead of the default.

That blows! I blame KZbin for that, I guess. All I do is turn them on or off. Turning them off means I can't afford to do these anymore, and turning them on means they are super annoying. 🙄

It would be awesome if a team built out Egypt like they did the Titanic project. Problem is the records are not as well preserved.

I thought about that Titanic a lot during this. So cool!

The Great Pyramid does, apparently, yes. Didn't read about that until after, but also I'm not sure it would have changed much in the final views.

Im sorry, but you could have taken some time and do some research to do the pyramids right...
@Learn-archViz4 ай бұрын
What is your issue with them? I took a little bit of artistic license with them, and also didn't give the Great Pyramid 8 sides. These are pretty minor. What else?
@madigorfkgoogle93494 ай бұрын
@@Learn-archViz I dont know, 4 sides vs 8 sides is pretty important if you ask me, besides the fact it is easy to make in 3D software.

@@madigorfkgoogle9349 Okay, well I guess we would have different goals for a project like this, and a different idea of what is a successful project. The concave walls are very subtle and only noticeable at very specific times, so it would not have changed what I am trying to do here at all. If accuracy was my #1 goal, which maybe it is for you, then it would be important.
@madigorfkgoogle93494 ай бұрын
@@Learn-archViz Well, since you titled your video "Amazing Re-Creation of Ancient Egyptian Pyramids in VR" one can hope it is re-creation and not artistic imagination, right? So if your No.1 goal was to do artistic impression, then do not title your video a re-creation in VR.... Im really not "Amazed".
