Ladies: Do not apply at the roots first. You're risking a poodle look..the roots will process quicker due to body heat. You don't want that inconsistency that can result.
@eyekandy3000
@eyekandy3000 4 жыл бұрын
You gotta know your hair. I had some heat damage so my roots were kinkier than the rest of my hair. Even though it was a Virgin texturizer I still applied from roots to almost ends and got great results. If I had left the roots for last as recommended would have been severely underprocessed- like my ends were 😞

I texlaxed my hair and I am so happy I did. I texlaxed mine with olive oil relaxer. My curls are beautiful and if I want to wear it straight it will be beautiful just as well. I can also wear twist outs, sleek ponytails and an afro. I love it.

I'm a licensed hairstylist please make sure that you're not scratching your scalp before a relaxer application and please use a petroleum base to protect your scalp from chemical burns. If your scalp continues to itch like the way that it did before you applied the chemical relaxer I would recommend that you don't use the product until your hair stops the itching and irritation. I think that the reason her hair was itching could be either 2 things one her hair was dirty before the application and two she could be suffering from product build up. If you're suffering from product buildup use a clarifying shampoo. I hope that you be safe using chemical products.

I want to try so bad but I’m terrified. Since mid 20s every relaxer I can bet put in took my hair out. I’ve been natural almost 3 years...but I just want to relax my coils a bit . Even natural with little heat they are unruly and dry looking no matter what products I use...not sure what is wrong

@TheAndreaAli
@TheAndreaAli 4 жыл бұрын
TexLax: Purposely under-processing the hair (with a Relaxer/Lax) so that it isn’t bone straight and that Texture remains (Tex/Texture). Process time under 15 minutes. With a traditional Relaxer you would process around 20+ minutes depending on the person/stylist to achieve bone straight hair.
@marquitafreeman9830

@@TheAndreaAli Thank you so much!! Seems the whole time I used relaxers I was really texlaxing b/c my scalp was so sensitive I never let it stay in long therefore never achieving bone straight hair. Just wanted the roots manageable. Didn't know there was a word/process for it. Thank you!!

No hate to you but,your not meant to be mixing things with the relaxer only the things that come with the relaxer in the box those are the things you should mix with the relaxer. Unless it's olaplex No 1 I. The relaxer this help any chemical damage that comes from chemical treatments eg relaxing, perming, dying hair/ bleaching hair with foils ect olaplex is compatible with all chemical services.

Did you cut your hair to keep it that length? I’m just wondering why you’re hair isn’t longer since you’ve been natural all your life.
@madib.2567
@madib.2567 4 жыл бұрын
I notice that too about alot of naturals including myself. I think due to hair tangling, patience, improper hair tools and usage, genetics, strinkage, etc it's a complicated process to retain inches. It can be done though.
@rnancy4218
@rnancy4218 4 жыл бұрын
Being natural means you’ve never put any chemically altering products in your hair. That doesn’t mean that determines your length. It’s like people with relaxers people get haircuts like Bob’s or shave it off and start over.
@DivaDen
@DivaDen 2 жыл бұрын
@@madib.2567 genetics plays a huge part. My daughter had been natural and at 8 years old begged me to cut her hair because she so tender headed and her hair was waist length at just 8 years old....2 years later its at shoulder length. She didn't go to scalp but it was about 4 inches long when I cut it.

A texlaxer is a relaxer. You leave it on shorter. The same chemicals. Even if you have a child's face on the package. Your hair can become very dry. So think about it.
