Are you on Team Savory when it comes to breakfast? Jacques Pepin prepares a full spread of savory breakfast recipes starting with a warm and nourishing oatmeal and leek soup (1:00). Next, ditch the bagels and serve Jacques' smoked whitefish with cream cheese and radish (2:01) with whole wheat triangles. Ruby red grapefruit and blood orange make an attractive color palette for a refreshing citrus salad (7:28). No breakfast is complete without eggs (12:16)

When I was a kid, there was a fishmonger near my house. I would go with my mom when she bought her fish, and I was always fascinated by the look of the smoked whole fish he had. If I knew then what I know now, I would have helped keep that guy in business, even though I was like 5 or 6 at the time.

Love omelets and frittatas of all kinds but Chef Pepins small curd soft French omelet is my favorite. Also love the Cocotte egg dishes that we sometimes bake in the oven (Shire) instead of hot water.

Greetings: amen 🙏 alleluia: fwiw - it seemed to me that de-boning a bullhead fish / catfish might have been a terrifying experience! However. it was one of the best recipes ( in my humble opinion) that I have ever seen any chef 👨‍🍳 demonstrate. Outstanding job!
