Have met Jacques through the Tv. Coming as an immigrant child to the US, my mom couldn’t afford cable, but we had PBS, and fell in love with the way he showed love through the teaching of cooking. I hope to one day meet you and say thank you.

Why do the elders allow us to be called African American when that's not our individual identity of a people we not black Americans either so why is it so easily placed over our heads that ain't right nowhere in the Bible does it say those titles for us as a people. But what does fit us as a people are those Israelites..

It was wonderful to view this again. I saw it when it was first broadcast on KQED. I was living in San Francisco then (1989 to 2021). As I no longer live there it was very nostalgic to watch it and remember the city I called home for so long.

My mom would make what she called California Hash. It was the same as Chili Con Carne, in my opinion, but she added some breadinh and cheese on top of hers.

When I started getting interested in cooking at around 28, I told myself I'm gonna make a dish I have never tried before once a week. Its been amazing to try so many different things and every cultures dish teaches you something new about how to do things

Years ago two friends invited me to lunch. We went to a Vietnamese restaurant as one woman was from Vietnam. The food ordered came wrapped in Lettuce Leaf and it was superb! I've always wanted to do that at home but wasn't sure of the stuffing - didn't want any old thing. This surely isn't any ol' meat stuffing! Superb! Jacque Pepin only gets better and Thank you SO MUCH for these uploads 🥰
