Nello & Patrasche, didn't know about it. Interesting, gives off little matchbox girl & the happy Prince vibes, dark endings.

Yeah, it’s apparently related to The Dog of Flanders. Funny enough, the story never gained wide appeal from the locals but was very popular in some Asian countries.

Love all the art and that you always find such cool shops. Thanks for sharing! I also appreciate the trash observation. We were prepared because of you two in Amsterdam. But let me warn you, if you come back to Portland to visit, you’ll be devastated by the trash!!

Oh my gosh, I’ve seen pictures. It was starting to get pretty bad before we left but our friends have been keeping us informed. Really so sad considering how immaculate everything was when we first moved there. Crazy how an entire city can change so quickly in that regard. But it will always be a beautiful city regardless. In our heaarrrtttts 🥰 Did you return from Amsterdam? If so, how was it?

In case anyone wonders: at 17:00 Robot Dreams is a really cute Oscar nominated movie about a dog who lives in New York. Because he's lonely, he buys a robot and they quickly become friends. And then other stuff happens, but I don't want to spoil it. It's suitable for children and adults (it has no dialogue, so anyone can follow the story). You will laugh, you will cry. The dog doesn't die at the end (little spoiler there).

So by now you know I live in Antwerpen. And your visiting schedule was on par! The station , the Meir, The Chocolate Line shop, The Museum and even the marriage proposal balcony! Still I have some cards up my sleeve to show to you 2! Don't forget! You will enjoy it! And you fooled me! I thought : finally 2 American guys that will not just eat trash food! But well ... I can still educate you 2 on the topic of really good and tasty food! The Mooy coffee/ lunch/breakfast place is a scam. Should be avoided !

On that same trip that I visited The Netherlands, my friends took me to Antwerp. Honestly, I don't remember much about the city. I do remember that it was September, and there were no Christmas carolers.

They had a chocolate sculpture of a topless man so we were in regardless lol. Plus the operation is run by father and son and the son was easy to look at. Are we shallow? When we want to be, yes.

@@RockyandKimball I noticed, no shame - kinda works similar here, but with sinkhole depths. I semi understand your theory of mind. The sculpting with chocolate is a different thing than the more commercial chocolates. But if you are talented at clay sculping, it has many similarities. I've worked at a chocolatier for about 6 months or so, just the non fancy stuff. There was this one guy, that made sculptures, which is not exactly the same as making the bonbons, etc. But very interesting, chocolate needs to be at certain temperatures for this to work, so does the room you are working in. Stuff like that.

@@RockyandKimballForgot something, since sailing is one of the hobbies I tend to enjoy Gardasee or in Italian Lago di Garda, when wind direction is okay, is a joy. It pleasant enough for wind or kitesurfing, but again it is one of those 'rich' places I generally ignore. It is that what normally would prevent me visiting Garda, but when it blows, it is glorious.

Huh? That are the rules with zebra crossings? 14:23 I understand rules seem to interfer with the land of the free mentality. Don't tell me what to do. hahaha In all sincerity we have less of a car culture here in Europe, our cars are even designed differently to have less fatal injuries when hitting a pedestrian, and stuff like that. Compared to the USA.
@MartijnPennings
@MartijnPennings 3 ай бұрын
In Amsterdam you really have to start actively crossing the street for cars to reluctantly stop for you at a zebra crossing. They don't have no time for those pesky pedestrians!! Like, they won't actively run you over, but if you're hesitant, they won't stop and wait for you to begin crossing the road. It really differs country to country and even city to city how well drivers adhere to those rules.
@schiffelers3944
@schiffelers3944 3 ай бұрын
@@MartijnPennings Tourists, both on the sidewalk and street, and behind the wheels of cars. Would be a reasoning for this in my opinion. It's not like that in the entire Netherlands. And similar: In the Netherlands a car also has to stop when you are not crossing at a zebra, and the zebra is like 10 meters from where you are crossing. In the Netherlands you don't have to wait for a green light when crossing on foot, if the street is safe you can cross. But crossing infront of a car when the light is also red, is illegal.
where should you live in Europe?
