Nailed it guys! Usually when I travel, I'm very regimented and try to see as much historical stuff as I can cram into a day, but your vlogs have inspired me to try and wander more next trip and just let myself get lost in the vibes (and random street urinals). Love from the States!

Aww, thanks so much for your continued support. We really do hope people enjoy the journey with us, even if it is virtual. We’re really bad about historic things on these trips because we travel for an entire month, so it makes it hard to learn everything before visiting that many cities. Normally, we’re a bit more prepared but this time we decided to really go with the flow and only look up things to do the night before. Typically we pick 2-3 main locations each day and then we find little things to do in between them. I do think it’s weird that, as artists, we don’t ever feel inspired to visit galleries or museums. But it’s probably just because we’re from the States and the cities and people themselves are more than enough to inspire. Thanks for coming to my TedTalk, k bye lol. 👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨

Next time you should come in the spring and make sure you are in the Netherlands either on Kings Day or during the Canal Pride. I also did not see a video yet of you visiting the homomonument (gay memorial monument) that was constructed to commemorate the deaths of the gys in the second world war.

Hi guys, just want to tell you I really enjoy watching your vlogs. They are very entertaining and fun. As a dutchie who is partnered to a Cypriot guy, I'm sometimes looking for videos that show me the NL through foreign eyes, that's how your channel showed up. Usually I watch those videos for a bit and move on but I enjoyed yours so much that I kept watching. I love the chemistry between you guys and your humor puts a smile on my face very often. Good editing skills. But as a Amsterdammer i have to say that you guys still only really went to the main centre and maybe a bit Oud West and Oud Zuid. Hope there will be upcoming vlogs from your visit here where you went to more obscure places. Although i did saw in a previous vlog how you passed my neighbourhood. Really great and fun vlogs, i was also checking out the Brussels ones.

Old fart that I am, I was going to request you start editing your videos one second longer per segment so I can actually read all the clever tight subtitles, but I found a workaround to spend more time with you...I adjusted the playback setting at one notch slower. And that works for me. You don't even sound abnormally slower. However, I will make one request. You mentioned missing New York and I couldn't find any tour videos of your time in New York. But in another video you said you had hundreds of hours of video prior to your channel. Might you cobble together one of some of your adventures in New York. Or come back and visit New York again? As an old New Yorker, I'd love to watch your perspectives on this city. Cheers!
@RockyandKimball
@RockyandKimball 3 ай бұрын
@@toadstooltarot Hey! No it’s not just you with the short subtitles. I like to do quick ones every once in a while to torture viewers lol. I always wonder if their curiosity will make them rewind to see what I said. It’s mean but someone’s gotta do it 😉 Glad you found a work around! Also, we speak so quickly most of the time that playing the videos back at .75 probably helps to understand us better anyway 😂 It’s funny you mention NYC because Inactually have three full length vlogs from NYC from a year back that have never been released on the channel. Since I’m so behind with my regular job, I’m thinking about releasing them on the channel over three weeks so I can catch up with life. They were from 2021 but I think people might still find them amusing. We shall seeeeeee. 😁 Thanks again for your ongoing support in the channel. These are Rose-ringed Parakeets. They come from Afrika and India but can breed in colder climates as well. In the 1970's a group of parakeets nestled in the Vondelpark; nowadays you can see them all over Amsterdam, there are a couple thousand of them now. There are a couple of theories about where they came from, like a pet store that went bankrupt and just let them free. You can say that the birds don't belong here, but then again, anyone who doesn't belong belongs in Amsterdam.

New York / New Amsterdam - nice Kimball, the Dutch and the French had a lot to do with the Americans winning the independence war. Wall street and the wallen in Amsterdam, and so much more Dutch influences in the Birthing of the United States, and the O.G. 13 colonies. The Dutch kept supplying/trading ammunitions and guns with Americans, even against Bitish wishes (rulers of the sea at that time), and we were at war with them also [Anglo Dutch War] the British East India Company replaced the VOC {Dutch East (& West) India company - to so much a thing to be really proud about but part of the Dutch golden age, and riches of the Holland provinces]. And the second nation following France that recognized American Independence. French and Brits have a love hate relationship in rulership through out history... The 4 French she-wolves. Isabella of France being the first (if not mistaken), she married (King) Eward II of England - he was a gay king [reigned from 1307 - 1327]. And burtally dishonored for being so. 1307 seemed to be a rough year for gays/sodomites. [Templar Knights round up] Wonder if you will walk out with a flat pre-rolled white widow joint - LOL depending on the type of establishment there is coffee one could consume. I would not understand what you mean with a flat white and had to look it up, but fine - I'll dare you. By the way - Market town near Oxford; Woodstock??? Eleonor of Woodstock was Edward II 3rd child.

@@RockyandKimball Nope, I'm a glitch in the system. No better way for putting it, I guess. I should not be, as is. Basically. Teen in the age of the internet being a public tool. So, Edward II is my (memory) anchor as a "gay" king, and memory said: Isabella of France, I had to check if I was correct. Etc. so I won't be talking out my ass as a smartass. The Woodstock was kinda new, grabbing my attention as I was checking the information. This time around. Most my knowledge mostly stems from: *"Know yourself"* mentality. Who am I? Where did I (we) come from? Why is this, and why is that? I had a sort of *identity crisis with my coming out.* I was raised mormon, in a secularizing Catholic location. I was bullied with being a "cult" member... And with being gay. "I was tested" - I'm above average smart, but not a gifted or a genius. LOL Im a smartass trying to avoid being an ass and give wrong data/information. I had the Dutch education system, and was from a lower socio-economic layer... I just followed the system basically in part... growing up. And autodidactically learned a lot with internet access. [Internet changed a lot over the decades, in ways I prefered the older way. Free PDF downloads of school books, etc.] The -ology subjects like; psychology, sociology, biology, sexology, etc. grabbed my interests. Understanding myself, and others, humans and humanity. Was the main objective, always. Why? Why? Why? Officially I am educated in Trade/Salesmanship; Fashion branch of the market. I had hairdressing, theater..... (brain bleep)..... Theology (didn't finish that study). I've done a lot of different things fields and subjects. I loved learning, I hated school. There are people that are actual history professors they know more for sure. Or profs in the specific fields listed as topics of interest. That is not me. I'm a nobody in that context, a failure, a zero in the system. Hmmm, Dutch folk ...... the recent results with the voting has me wondering how well I know the Dutch folk and I would say they are not that well knowing about history and Europe. But that is also in Limburg, and Heerlen area. Before I had placed them higher. PVV has notoriously been a party of lower educated. So?!? Education levels has been dropping a little? People...... they are a diverse bunch of idiots together. LOL History, it keeps repeating lessons not learned, and as they say: Roots before branches. Understand where you came from, to understand where you are, and where you are actually going. That's all it is on my side. I work service and food industry/catering, IRL I cater to the needs of the stomach's of others, but not on a high level. Sandwich here, soup there, that kind of stuff. It pays the bills, and keeps the dream semi alive, lol Guess the (christian) servant programming runs deep in me.
@RockyandKimball
@RockyandKimball 7 ай бұрын
Kimball also grew up Mormon. But he had a gay brother and sister older than him, so his parents were already used to the idea by then. Another reason to adventure out when we were young though. Figure out who we are. You mention “the dream.” What’s the dream, if I may?
@schiffelers3944
@schiffelers3944 7 ай бұрын
@@RockyandKimball To me the name Kimball had a mormon flavor to it. [President Kimball] The dream is harder to explain. Even if I try to explain it in clear Dutch many Dutch people don't understand what it is that I want to do. Since it has multiple facets. I want to spent my time working with: *Zingevingsproblematieken* thus *Geestelijke verzorging* On paper the business "exists" not so much in reality. Heiden (Heathen) Zingeving (meaningfulness) Praktijk (practice) Wanting to put a focus on the meaningfullness of the NGDS & AV community; Neuro, Gender and Sexual diversity & Andersvaliden [handicaped] So basically us humans better the world/society through better understanding the problems, and their causes. The broken systems of society which only creates broken people. Without the feel for tech to eliminate the problems caused by us humans to begin with; the strange odds of life, the minorities and outcasts should have a seat at the round table as well. And not just survive of crumbs so to speak. The tech in many ways actually is creating more problems and issues in society. Societies should live more in balance with life (flora and fauna) and the planet, not so much machines.
