My second home Christian. My (English) Son lives on Hadsel Island (which is the the 'Gateway' to The Lofoten [A10]) with his Norwegian wife and our wonderful family. On a personal level, I thank you for these gorgeous images and the linking videos. I have saved this video as a reminder of the beauty of the area which - thankfully - I visit every year.

Wow. Senja and Lofoten in 4 days?? Including the 10 hour drive from Tromsø to Å. Worldrecord. At least you had a stunning sunrise with a stunning photo at Hamnoy bridge. Congrats.

Great video. Going to Lofoten in july. Just a tech question, why do you use f stop 18 in that Hamnøy bridge photo? And Å is pronounced a bit like the O in Wow or "Ou" 😅
@FMTrema2 жыл бұрын
Just to nitpick, it's pronounced like the o in "stock", [o:]. We went there a few years back, and it was packed with tourists, even in mid-August. If you're driving, the locals can be a bit unwelcoming in traffic. Felt like they saw our foreign plate and drove intentionally in the middle of the road. My impression was that Lofoten is a nice place, but way overhyped considering that there are plenty of beautiful places in Norway.
@ThePhlogPhotography2 жыл бұрын
I knew it was wrong haha! :D Not sure why I used f/18 in that case, but I know the tokina lens I used there produces good quality with that aperture, so that might have been the reason :-)

I'll try to remember how to pronounce that correctly, thank you! I've been there once in late September and now in mid february, always only a few tourists around but of course its off-season. I agree with the traffic, it can get really wild sometimes on those tiny roads haha. Also, I agree Norway has A TON of beautiful places, I would loooove to travel the whole country, but thats not possible to do in one week. The great thing about the Lofoten is, there are soooo many top photo spots packed in one small area, you will just get more good photos from a short trip there

Hallo Christian, vielen Dank für das Video! Da ich im Juli nahezu die gleiche Reise mache, kommt mir das super gelegen. Eine Frage hätte ich: sind die angegebenen Brennweiten auf Vollformat umgerechnet?
@ThePhlogPhotography2 жыл бұрын
Hey, vielen Dank für das Kommentar! Die Brennweite n sind alle an vollformat gemessen :-) Sommet in Norwegen ist traumhaft, ich wünsche dir / euch eine schöne Zeit dort oben!!

Ok I’m planning to go in April. I hope roads are open
@ThePhlogPhotography8 ай бұрын
Roads should be open, we didnt run into any closed ones when we were there! They might still be icey if the weather is bad, but with spiked wheels its not a problem

How long would it took you from Senja to Lofoten if you wouldn't have missed the ferry ? What ferry is it ? Thank you!
@ThePhlogPhotography Жыл бұрын
I think it would have been something like 6 hours maybe. The ferry is somewhere in the top left of senja if I remember correctly (cant look it up right now unfortunately)
