I see all the great landscape and thinks, panorama. Not a dedicated series, a wide flex of shoots that can cropped, combined and edited to taste back at home, as you can seemingly are overwhelmed by raw and beautiful landscape of that are remote location. Thx , great content!

TIL: "Blowing a hooley!" I'm going to use that one. New t-shirt slogan: "Rocks, mountains, sky, oh my!" Good stuff. There was a whole lot of smiling going on. I had a "not a wildlife photog" moment in Maui last month when I had great timing catching a humpback leaping out of the water only to have it end up out of focus. Yours are much better ;-) Thank you for taking us along!

Hey Thomas! Don’t beat yourself up for not finding the angle you would want to find during your adventure. I was in iceland 2 weeks ago and sometimes I found it also genuinely difficult to capture the beauty that is right in front of us. Sometimes it is a mixture of being at the right place at the right time. All that matters in the end is your experience capturing that shot and your story behind it. Don’t overthink your shots and go for it

Thomas, for what it's worth, I enjoyed following along with your adventure. When I'm faced with bleak monochrome winter landscapes, I usually turn to black and white and try to get creative with high key and low key edits. Some work, some do not some are just train wracks. Coming from a background in wildlife photography, I enjoyed the fox footage.

The shot of that Arctic Fox was just EPIC! That's the kind of shot that people just wouldn't believe was even possible! Now, Tom, tell me something? Y'know when your camera froze over, did you just have to wait till it thawed out and then it was fine again, or was there any lasting damage? I wouldn't trust the weather sealing on mine. But then again, I'm not likely to go out when it's -25! or whatever! 🤣🤣

Good video Thomas. You definitely should get into wildlife photography. I've been doing both for years and I reckon the two go hand in hand. Whenever possible I take gear to do both - if conditions don't suit landscapes, more often than not you can find some interesting wildlife, and vice versa

I really enjoyed the triptych of videos from this trip Thomas! The images are stunning. Quick question: did you film on the Fujifilm X-T4 and photograph with the Nikon Z7II on this adventure? I think the gear page is outdated on your website as I don't see the Nikon on there. They're just tools, I know, but I'm always curious about the behind-the-scenes aspects of field work.
@AmorLucisPhotography Жыл бұрын
Are you using Kase Wolverine, Thomas? Kase circular magnetic filters does have an ND grad. It split at the mid point, so more limited, but sometimes I find it useful. If you buy one of their kits (for larger than you need) you can even get an adapter that allows some degree of adjustment for the filter. That said, in my view 95% of the time, it's simpler to do gradation non-destructively in post and do an exposure blend if dynamic range is challenging.

A thoroughly enjoyable trip for us! I know that feeling of disappointment, however I think your stellar collection of Arctic Fox images are something to be really proud of. The ones in the previous episode showing the snow whipping past tell a beautiful story about the brutal environment. Then your wide angle shot this week gives the landscape context. After seeing your Arctic Fox images I find it hard to imagine a landscape image on its own being able to convey as much.

I really enjoyed the last 2 videos Tom , the diversity of that landscape leaves a lot to get your head around , nothing to see and yet you produce content that we as your followers love to see , you have to make the best of the situation and personally I think that you achieved this , from your determination to capture that mountain range , no electricity , no toilets to speak of , I could go on and on, but to me you are one of the top photographers in the U.K. , and your vlogs are not to shabby either 😊 , roll on next Wednesday

I just watched your video about Hornstrandir and I was blown away by the stunning images you captured. Your ability to convey the rugged beauty and untamed wilderness of this remote Icelandic region is truly remarkable. As a fellow photographer, I know how challenging it can be to capture the essence of a place and tell a visual story through your images. But you have a real talent for it, and I think it's important to recognize and celebrate that. Your passion for photography and dedication to your craft is truly inspiring. Watching your videos and seeing your photos always motivates me to push myself harder and strive for excellence in my own work. Thank you for sharing your art with the world, and for being such a positive influence on the photography community.
