Rewatching your Taiwan series for the 4th time, as I really miss the food and sunny weather while pouring rain here in Pacific Northwest. Best of luck on US green card application.

Sadly it was pouring rain there on our last trip so we could not film more videos. Hoping to go again later this year though.

I have to make sure that I watch your videos AFTER I eat, and not before, or else I'll just get really depressed! LOL Loving all of your videos, and sending good thoughts from Canada :)

Thanks! :) haha, good idea! It's rough on me while I edit as well since I usually get really hungry and lose all motivation to workout / ride 😂

Love you guys. Thuong needs to talk more, with SUBTITLES. We watch a lot of Korean and Japanese TV with subtitles, very enjoyable.

Going to try and get her speaking more in the videos, but wasn't sure if people didn't want to deal with subtitles..

5:22 The rice burrito I have no idea what it's called either. They normally are pre made so I just grab one and pay for them here in NYC. It's interesting to see it sold in Taiwan as a breakfast item, I've always picked mine up at the Shanghai restaurants, they put a you tou and pickled shredded cabbage inside of it.
@TwoWheelCruise6 жыл бұрын
It sounds like the ingredients are a bit different, but I'm down for any kind of sticky rice burrito :)

After all that riding in the rain, give your wife a break. She was such a good sport. Take her someplace really nice. Like dim sum at Yen (W Hotel) C.f. Mikey Chen video.

We ate a bunch of good food while in Taipei, so she was able to overcome the "torture" I put her through 😂 We also have a bike shop video coming up, and there's a pretty great comment in there from her about the Bianchi video haha

It sounds delicious, but pardon an ignorent man, what's special about soy(milk)? In western countries it's a dairy milk substitution for vegans and people with lactose Intolerace and milk allergy. Similar products are oat(milk) and almond(milk). Are one you lactose intolerant (i know most asians are)?
@TwoWheelCruise6 жыл бұрын
I don't think that's true that most Asians are lactose intolerant, but soybeans and tofu are a big part of the Asian diet. Much easier for them to produce and less cattle farms, so I don't think they view it as a substitution food. I actually really like soybeans and soy related products. We both switch between soymilk and regular milk depending on what we're in the mood to drink.
@cyprus99956 жыл бұрын
Well this says otherwise: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Worldwide_prevalence_of_lactose_intolerance_in_recent_populations.jpg I think it's a genetic and cultural thing. Soymilk perhaps taste different (worse) in Europe. I'm from Sweden so i'm probably biased 🙂
@TwoWheelCruise6 жыл бұрын
Those statistics seem quite extreme. Milk is a standard part of school lunches here in Japan.
@cyprus99956 жыл бұрын
I'm not saying they are allergic to lactose, but intolerant. Here's a quote from wikipedia "Rates of lactose intolerance vary between regions, from less than 10% in Northern Europe to as high as 95% in parts of Asia and Africa." It's the same with alcohol and Asians, we are talking about DNA. And here is a link: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4586575/
@TwoWheelCruise6 жыл бұрын
That seems pretty ridiculous for them to nationalize this in school lunches, but I guess there's different levels of intolerance
