Hello, I'm Thai. I'm a doctor. Honestly I'm not good in English. After working tirelessly during the COVID epidemic for the past 3 months I have been interested in SEA history and Tai-Kadai languages. Thank you so much for making the learning curve more clear. 🤓😍💝
I can feel that Thai language is going to be used internationally when I see foreigner teaches Thai phonetic. 😅 BTW, I'm impressed with your knowledge and how you deliver it. 😁👍
You are doing an amazing job. Your Thai is amazing!! I am Thai and can honestly say that foreigners will be able to learn better Thai from you than they can from some of Thai people.
I had learned this when I was a university student. The subject is called Characteristics of Thai Language. It recalled me back to 15 years ago. It’s hard to understand at first but I find it is useful to acquire Lanna scripts, and also Khmer.

You have done great things for a deep understanding of the Tai (ไท/ไต) languages. I'm a native Thai born in the northern province of Lamphun. So, my mother tongue is "ไทลื้อ" and I'm now learning Chinese. I myself interested in learning languages for many years but not in a linguistic way. What you have done does answer many questions which doubted me for my whole life. Brilliant!!!!
You explain clearly, easy to understand for people with little background in language. thank you very much I will continue to support and spread this good thing to others.
This is a great lesson phonetic and linguistics, totally agree that the Tai languages are varied especially in South East Asia , Regrettably that the central education has not standardized their lesson on other Tai languages, as myself from Chiang Mai, I am speaking Lanna and learned how the write Lanna script which is possibly to read Tai lue, Tai Yai, Burmese script.. thank you for the great video, I am deeply hope that many Thai would see the importance of their languages heritage.
Year ago. I feel the meaning of "Tai ไท" and "Thai ไทย" because of you. Thank you for helping me solve the equations for the actual pronunciation of each region.
ขอบคุณมากค่ะ I'm starting to learn Thai seriously and I never knew where to start until I found your videos. This explains it so well, ขอบคุณค่ะ 🙏 I stayed up until 2 am following along and rewinding until I understood everything. You're the first teacher that's explained the language not just by translating words in Thai to English, or the other way around, but by actually going deep into the language and explaining the tongue positions, throat positions, why some grammar rules are as they are and more. It's just awesome. I'm the type of person who learns a language in whatever way possible but it's difficult to learn fully when I don't understand why some grammar and words are the way they are and even why tones exist. Your videos help me understand this and learn ภาษาไทย faster because I simply just understand. I never thought I would find these videos fun but I do 555 you're an awesome teacher 😊

thank you! this comment sums up exactly what I hope people will get from my clips and methods . So happy that they can be of assistance 🙏🏻
Intronation is the the most important in Tai languages, other is lone words with sharing the same and adopted words from other languages such as Chinese, Cambodian, Pali-Sanskrit, Burmese, Vietnamese, Malaysian and etc.
Great video! One adjustment that you would help me with is to put the (Thai) subtitles as KZbin Closed Captions, since I could then use the "LLY" chrome extension to study Thai while watching your video. But the majority of your viewers might prefer the method you used so it's just a suggestion of course.

I had to use that method for this clip in particular as I actually explain things differently depending on the language - and go between languages. For other clips, I will try and start including caption files. The down side is captions exponentially add to production time
