I used to use the shell, but It’s nearly impossible to keep from getting egg on your fingers. Simply using your hand is the absolute best way! You get 99% of the white off and it’s super quick! You don’t have to worry about getting any shell in it, or it possibly breaking moving it back and forth. Also, you still have a bit of egg white left with the shell method.

Another way of making sure you don't get egg shell is not to crack the egg right into the pan or the stuff you are making. Crack the egg in to a separate small bowl. That way to can see if the egg is fine and look for any egg shell. If the egg looks 'wrong' it can be thrown saving what you are making, such as a cake. If any shell, just remove.
@PattyJay6666 ай бұрын
The most effective way to avoid eggshells in the egg is to crack them on a flat surface. If you crack the eggs on an edge, potential splinters are pushed into the inside of the egg

8:34 I have a foolproof method of extracting egg contents from an egg: 1: firmly tap the egg a few times on it's side on the edge of a sturdy bowl. 2: place your thumb into the opening 3: pull your hands away from one another, letting the contents fall into the bowl. I've used this method for quite a number of years, and had eggshell in the egg only twice. a caveat: for the bowl, I recommend bowls like the one you'd eat cereal out of.

haha this is just standard protocol in my region.
@cheesewizard22946 ай бұрын
@@infinite4809 absolutely necessary protocol for "real eggs" from the farm. You dont wash or refrigerate fresh eggs. They last longer at room temperatures with day and night fluctuations. Harvest and handle with gloves to avoid getting oil from your skin on them, and store out of direct sunlight, and, people are amazed how long they last. Fertile eggs can even be incubated several months after laid, and, still hatch healthy chicks. All that said, when im ready to crack one open, i brush off any dried on chicken chit with a paper towel, wet my hands with rubbing alcohol , then carefully crack it with the edge of the counter pretty easily with no mess. Good farm eggs stored properly have a TOUGH membrane that the shell doesn't separate from easily like refrigerated eggs,,,, and, fresh eggs are delicious. Its worth a little anal retentiveness to mitigate the chance of chit born bacteria, to have eggs that dont taste like a toxic waste dump.

A hundred years ago when I waited tables, we regularly had to "marry" ketchup bottles (that is, combine half-used with more until it was full). The way we would get ketchup out of the bottles is to shake it upside down with the cap securely on. When you open the cap, the ketchup comes right out. Coat the inside with a thin layer of oil (I use grapeseed), bake at 500 F for an hour, repeat until the inside is a glossy uniform black (same as seasoning cast iron).
