It's crazy how far the 50 series of Nvidia graphics cards have come. I've had this laptop for about 3 months now and boy does it eat for 1080p Max settings. I got it from Bestbuy open box for 599 as well such a steal for all its worth.

I like it a lot though, it's fast, runs my game great, and stays cool. Of course I have to keep it plugged in cuz the battery drains very fast during gaming. I'm happy with it overall.

This laptop is essentially built in the Gen 5/Gen 6 Legion body. Same screen 1080p 144hz. I have a Legion 7 with the same screen, 2020 model i believe. 10750h/2070super. Looks awfully similar from an exterior perspective. This definitely has better internals.

Hi. Over here in UK, you can get a LOQ 15 with the brand new AMD Ryzen 7 7435HS, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD & a 4060 GPU for the stupidly low price of £690. The catch, such as it is, is that the 7435HS has no iGPU. My laptops spend almost all of the time plugged into a wall socket & only really ever get used for gaming. Do you see any problems with me getting one?? FYI, the 7435HS is a slightly downclocked, Zen 3+ based Ryzen 7 7735H (but without any iGPU). I would have thought this would be more than adequate for most games. Any thoughts??

Beau, maybe you could make a video which shows, is it possible to boost graphic performance by using the RX 780M iGPU somehow as addition to the RTX 4060? So far i know, you can set a physic processor in Nvidias Control panel and choose under "Configure Surround PhysX" the RX 780M instead of RTX 4060, does it make a difference? Also does lenovo makes it possible to set vram of the iGPU?

Not possible. A game will use the iGPU or the dGPU. Technically for best performance you want to disable the iGPU

If you need it solely for gaming, then go with i7 or you want it to do daily tasks with more battery savings then you should go with ryzen 7

This laptop has a 1440p version with 4060 and 8845hs, so I don't think there's any need to get a legion over this. Because the difference is in display and build quality, Legion has HDR display and somewhat better build. No need to spend extra money on legion even if it's 4070 version because GPU performance difference doesn't justify the price gap

yes it can. The max wattage consumption on AMD models under silent profile is under 100w. You need tk make sure the charger is capable of putting out sustained 100w. Some brands don’t do that properly

They are. Lenovo have made a point of having that fact clear in their marketing material. Lots of reviewers have also tested devices from this year's Legion lineup & the LOQ series that show the temps are indeed better while also being slightly quieter. I was concerned when I first heard that they were getting rid of the side vents on their devices but luckily the only downside of that has been the ports being taken away from the back & moved to the side(on the Legion devices) while the LOQ still keeps some of the rear ports.

Did you mean the AMD 7435HS rather than the 7345HS (which I don't think exists?). The 7435HS has only just been released but in essence, is an old, 7th generation, Zen 3+ based Ryzen 7 7735H which has no integrated graphics. For people who use their laptops on the go, this is not really suitable as the laptop will have relatively poor battery life. This is because the laptop is forced to use its power hungry discrete graphics card all the time. However for folks like me, who really only use their laptop for playing games whilst plugged into a wall socket, it should be fine. Last week, I ordered a LOQ 15 with a Ryzen 7 7435HS, the 1080p screen, 24GB of DDR5 RAM, a 512GB SSD, an Nvidia 4060 but NO windows (I'll buy an activation key separately). This cost £700 ($US 882) including VAT & delivery which is insanely cheap for a 4060-equipped lappy!

Regarding your question, a LOQ based on the new Zen 4 based new 8845H will be better than one based on the 7435HS. The 8845 does have integrated graphics so will have way better battery life. However as you noted, it significantly jacks up the price. I reasoned that most of the games I play will be limited by the GPU, not the CPU, in which case the cheaper CPU made most sense. PS - if you do order the LOQ off the UK site, try using the promo code 5Y6Em1W5GTV2 which knocked an extra thirty quid off for me.
