There is a device where the engineer can program the length of the train. When he presses a button the meep meep will ocure when the train has run its length forward once. This is to know that the last waggon has passed the point where the button was pressed. For example a railtwiltch to accelerate afterwords.

Not as expensive as you'd think. I just went to the F1 race in Austria and asides from the fact that the general admission weekend tickets are cheap as hell there (about €70 if you buy 6 months before the event), my train tickets across country from Salzburg to the Knittelfeld train station (near the Red Bull ring) were €14 each way when I booked 6 months in advance. My return plane ticket from the UK was about £70 and airbnb prices in Austria can be as cheap as anywhere else too. I paid about £20 per night. I used the trains for 2 days and the views are unbelievable. Plan ahead and you can have a very cheap holiday in Austria.

Thanks! It's the frequency from the current converter (PWM) going up. The ingeneurs from Siemens built in an "easter egg" making it play a musical scale when departing. In the beginning also other melodies were chooseable by the driver, but they were removed after a short time.

I've travelled this route several times over the years from 1952 until my last trip in 2014, from London to Villach. This section has always been my favourite but I could never see it in its full glory from the carriage windows. So this video has at last given me the full view of the mountains and valleys (also the station bar at Spittal Millstattersee and my first experience of drinking to much beer). It will be part of my memories. Es ist ein wunderbar video, vielen danke.

It usually means the train has cleared a restricted speed area and the driver can speed up, so it's appropriate.
@stephanweinberger4 жыл бұрын
@@austrorus this is the notification sound of the train-length distance measurement. The driver can start the measurement by pushing a button in the cab and the counter will measure the length of the train; once the train has gone the preconfigured length it will sound the roadrunner. It is mostly used to notify the driver when the train has cleared a speed restricted zone so he can accelerate. For example at 6:34 you can hear the driver pressing the button as the train clears the tight curve and passes the "10" sign (=100km/h track speed), at 6:55 the end of the train has left the curve - indicated by the roadrnner sound - and the driver begins to accelerate (very gently, he doesn't seem to be in a hurry *g*).

Lots of greenery and mountains, a couple of rivers, and some towns you don't see much of, but the names are familiar or understandable (wenn man ein bischen Deutsch kennt). And from the best point of view-the cab! At an early stop, I thought: Did those people really board the train and settle in in less than 30 seconds? Nah, thanks for cutting the wait, usually to a couple of seconds. At another stop there was a man standing to the left of the tracks ahead. His position jumped from the stop to resumption. Another time the sky was suddenly darker. Very well done! Thanks, also, for the natural sound, no music to tell us what emotions to have. Ambient sound almost always does a much better job of connecting viewers with the experience. I don't know how you finagle getting to view this from the cab. Perhaps you're a driver? I started watching this out of curiosity. I was only going to watch a few minutes, but obviously it drew me in. I switched to playback speed 2 and at the halfway point paused to make a cup of tea. Nice to have those options. Thanks for an enjoyable ride! I just subscribed. (As you say on your channel: "Abonnieren lohnt sich! ") Nochmals vielen Dank!

@fuehrerstand11 жыл бұрын
Okay, what you mean is the onboard voice. "AFB" (you can hear it in the very first seconds) is played, when the "Automatic Drive and Brake System" is turned on or off. (It Holds the speed constant) "Zugbeefinlussung" is played, when the PZB is active, which controls the speed of the train when it is nearing a red singal. I hope that's what you meant.
