Oh thats the interesting thing about white chocolate. Its not exactly chocolate and many people who work in such fields like chocolatiers believe that it is not chocolate at all. The only thing that makes white chocolate sorta chocolate is that it uses cocoa butter which is just fat/oils extracted from the cocoa bean and carries some of the cocoa flavor. While regular chocolate is the cocoa butter and cocoa bean particles which is what give it the brown color.

These are really delicious i had to tweak my measurements (used a scale for everything) and other factors but very good. Doing 2tbsp scoops is pretty important. I added another quarter cup of flour (54g) cause the first sheet were greasy. I baked for 15 minutes at 340*F. Other than that im very happy, soft in the middle and crispy edges are my favourite🙏🏾

Cut 3 vanilla sticks in half, then cut all the halfs lengthwise and add that to a liter of vodka or whiskey. Be sure to shake the bottle every 3-5 days first month, then 2 a month, then monthly. It takes the extract a year to be ready. Enjoy.

Hello John your tutorial videos are really informative and entertaining. I know with our professional lives in general doesn't really allow the general public to spend more time with the family, but baking or cooking always can bring unity to the family. Please John after all these years posting cobtent, it's about time to make your own homemade vanilla extract. I know it takes months to really achieve optimum results, but in your case it's well worth it. When I eventually start making baking content, I will later on use homemade vanilla extract, it's so much better then the commercially prepared offerings.

I've just started baking, so far baked 4 batches of cookies and yeah no success..all of my cookies seems to have same problem, they're flat, and kinda oily especially when I touch right after from the oven, it's like fried cookie not baked..but somehow they taste OK and it's crispy and chewy on the inside. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong with creaming the butter and sugar part, I've seen other videos and some uses melted butter, some says you HAVE to chill I'm here like 🤯I know Mr John's recipe is perfect, I always come back to his channel.(Your/his panna cotta is the only thing I've succeeded so far)I have a little girl and she doesn't eat any table foods cuz of her condition, but she does eat some snacks, and I really want to make her some yummy cookies, one day she also had a bite of puff pastry so I watched the video but idk..I can't even make cookies let alone puff pastry..I'm about to give up here.. 😥 I'd appreciate anyone who can give me a little hint. Thank you~~

Awwwe!!! How cute you are! Your sweet comment brought back happy memories of my older sister Sarah and I asking our mom if we could bake something, especially during the cold dreary wet and foggy days of winter. We'd put on a Disney movie, grab our quilts that we had made with our grandma to snuggle in while our goodies baked, perhaps build a fire in the fireplace or beg Daddy to build one for us if he was home, (burning was still occasionally allowed back then by the air pollution control district, whereas now it is completely outlawed) and get to baking! Daddy was ALWAYS thrilled with what we baked, especially the chocolate chip cookies. We always ate a lot of cookie dough. When we were teenagers, (I'm now 36 years old and Sarah is a little less than 3 years older than me), I turned around and saw that Sarah quite literally had her entire head inside the brownie batter mixing bowl, and was licking it so that she wouldn't have to share it with me. She even got some of the brownie batter in her hair, but she did not care in the least. She still has no shame when it comes to chocolate. During my senior year of high school I was friends with a German exchange student who was a major chocolate lover, so I invited her over to bake brownies from scratch. (She ate Nutella on toast for breakfast every morning and one of her biggest fears before coming here was not being able to purchase Nutella!!! Keep in mind that she came less than one year after the terrorist attacks, which occurred on September 11, 2001, and her fear of not having her daily serving of Nutella brought on major anxiety.) She had never baked from scratch and was so amazed with our brownies that she was incredibly proud of herself and then raved about my baking skills. Baking brownies together with my sweet friend Kerstin and getting to teach her something new definitely ranks pretty high up there on the list of my favorite memories with her. After graduating high school, Sarah started attending a local community college, but was still living at home and she got more adventurous in her baking. She made a rum cake, but she either used too much of the rum or the rum had too high of a proof, or both scenarios, (the rum was whatever our parents had on hand in the liquor cabinet), but you could have gotten a buzz from eating that cake! The alcoholic fumes kind of burned our eyes and throats as we ate it and the dumb cake wouldn't even freeze because of its high alcohol content! Sarah's Special Rum Cake has been a bit of a running joke ever since. Sometime later, Sarah then decided to make a Baked Alaska, (neither of us had ever eaten one nor seen one in person) but she wanted it to have a patriotic color scheme of red, white and blue for the 4th of July Independence Day festivities. She baked a red velvet cake, which we had never had for the "red" component, topped it with a huge mountain of vanilla ice-cream for the "white" component, and then used food coloring to tint the meringue blue for the final trifecta of components. I don't think that she'd ever made a meringue before. We only had an electric handheld mixer and not a fancy stand mixer, and Sarah has to be one of, if not the most impatient person I know, so I don't think that she beat the egg whites long enough because it didn't look right. She slathered her blue meringue on top of the ice-cream, trying to make artistic swoops, put it in the oven to toast the meringue, but you can guess how it turned out as Sarah's Patriotic Baked Alaska is another source of amusement, just like the boozy rum cake. The Baked Alaska, in its sloppy melted colorful mass of goop, was probably one of the least appetizing things we had seen up to that point. I do have to give her credit though for having the guts to try something new, especially since she can be on the timid side. At the time, her best friend Ashley and her entire family were always baking something yummy, so I think that Sarah was in part inspired by them, but she was also trying to push herself and acquire new skills so as to compete with Ashley and not be outdone by her, since Ashley was always noted for her baked goods and I noticed how Sarah's feathers would get ruffled and her jealousy would start to silently show when people would shower Ashley with compliments while indulging in her cakes. Ah, memories... Anyways my dear, I hope that you and your mom will make many happy memories together in your kitchen, which you will recollect fondly one day when you are older, as you two continue to bake your tried and true family favorite recipes and also when you're feeling experimental and adventurous and want to have some fun as you try out new and unfamiliar recipes. Happy Baking, with love from Madera, California ~ Susan Sparke

@@susansparke3462 wow what a story. Everytime me and/or my sisters make cookies we always had to "sample" the dough haha. We still do today. we even give some to our mom and dad. Whenever i'm making them i get so insecure with that big bowl of cookie dough literally right beside me!! We've always wanted to make edible raw cookie dough and a few months ago, we finally did! It was SO good. we loved baking and we still do now. I'm going to be 16 in less then two weeks, my older sister will be 18 in three months or so and the youngest will be 15 in the beginning of next year. We make these cheesecake cups(layers of cheesecake, strawberries, and graham cracker crumble out of almond flour. *a healthy version of cheesecake btw, and a keto-friendly snack) and it's funny bc everytime our mom would want us to make it she'd just say "Yes", "Sure", or "Go ahead", without even telling us what she wanted but we always assumed or guessed. She does that with cookies and other dessert things we make. For the cheesecake, another thing she'd say sarcastically is "we don't want the strawberries to go bad, so you might as well make the cheesecake cups" and my sisters would agree and laugh, and they'd gasp and say "only so the strawberries won't go bad" and she'd say "Yes, only for that reason" 😂 When i get older i plan to go to culinary or cosmetology school. I love to bake, but i'm also into make-up and other things in that category. I'm not very good at hair but i can learn haha! Anyways me and my sisters love baking things. Brownies, Cookies, Magic Bars, etc. If the Brownies were a boxed mix or not, we'd still love to bake it. We still do now! Boxed or made from scratch, we love doing it. Just this one time my older sister opened a boxed brownie mix, baked it and it came out with this jelly texture to it. Tasted jelly. We figured it was probably expired. idk it was weird!! Anyways we love baking. Whenever we'd eat at our church, we'd make something of course, and if we ever needed a second dish we'd always make some kind of dessert!! Thanks for the kind words ☆ I hope you and Sarah get the chance to get together and bake again like you used to :) ♡'s from Alabama, Taylor

I'm trying to find the ultimate soft cake like cookie and I haven't come across one that I like yet that isn't too sweet or chewy. Im after that soft, cake like cookie.
