Another great watch & carving! You simply can't beat the traditional tools. I'm guilty of not using my grandfather's hand-me-down Marples....shame on me, eh? 🤣 Someday I'll pick them up again. Love your work, big & small. 👍🇮🇪

Thks for your continued support..There are lots of positives to hand tools...but I am not opposed to power tools i have a complete woodworking shop etc I use chainsaws all the time and band saws as you have seen in video etc.... Not knocking those who use a dremel or Rotary burrs etc...its just my traditional nature and backgroind....but I will say it does take longer to learn how to use and sharpen them At a master level....it takes a little more hand strength But advantages are many quiet...you can listen to music no hearing protection, ..no dust no electricity the tools can last a lifetime...although some can wear out sooner.. There are certain textures unique to them...and for restoration work in antique Trades a must etc.and they can be faster way of wood removal in many cases etc.

what are your main chisles and gouges u used on this carving?

What ever one does the job at arms reach...I am a profesional I can do the job with multiple chisels I dont memories what tool I use as far as number dimensión or sweep I just can glance at a pile of tools on my work bench and know instinctively it will or wont work...if your trying to carve by tool numbers or sizes...thats ameteurish and the wrong way. Train your eyes to look at tools and talk at hand and match it....if your a beginner and cannot not do that then practice a cut or shape on scrap till it gives you result you want before you apply it to a project any body telling you to carve by numbers is a hacker just as drawing dot to do is amateur....learn how to do it rightway I am old school...like I said I dont remember what sweeps or number sizes of tools I use I have over 3000 hand chisels in my collection when I start a project I go to cabinet grab a hand ful tools that I believe will work by prior experiance and may add tools or take away from that small pile as project progresses dont know what else to tell you other than to practice in the future I may add some more intense and specific educational vids but to busy at moment other to make time lapse entertainment vids etc.
