Tom, you sure have gathered some decoys from some big name players! All wonderful artists including yourself. When I took lessons from Jim Wilson, he talked about all of you during most of my lessons. He referred the work of Tan, Jet, Bob Bolle, Rick Johanssan, Jon Jones, Jimmie and you. You are all gifted carvers and painters.

All good friends on that list. Very fortunate to have some of their work.

Nice job with the hand vermiculation Tom. I agree with you on Jett's work. I call him the Michelangelo of duck carvers. And you certainly have a great reputation as well. Jokingly, Jett told me once he would like all his work to be judged by me and his mom. I certainly am a fan. His birds just have such a soft look. I did decorative s in the 80's-90's and have never done a gunner. I am amazed at the painting technique you used on the tertials to give that ruffled appearance. Would you consider a video on that? Really enjoying your video's.

I can just hear Jett saying that! He has a great sense of humor but don’t tell him I said it. 😁. Thanks for your comments!

I notice a quite a bit of mileage from your brush between reloading paint. 2 questions 1 ) what sort of brush do you use and 2)do you thin your paint? Gorgeous work as usual!
@tomchristieart Жыл бұрын
it’s a #4 Kingart Original Gold 9020 Ultra Round brush. I do thin the paint with water until it’s coming off the brush the way I want it. I usually premix the Vermiculation color so I have enough pre-mixed to do the whole bird. Keeps the color and mix consistent. Hope that helps Denis. Thanks for the comment!

Another great video, thanks for the information. Is there any chance you could do a video up close and detailed explanation of burning feathers and stoning?
@tomchristieart Жыл бұрын
Thanks David. I really do not do full-blown decorative birds so I can’t help much on stoning and burning.

Great video , I`m like a kid in a candy store when I see a new video pops up hehe. Thanks again. I may be asking or suggesting too much but Is there any chance we could see a hen mallard carving or painting demo that may be in the future? Thanks again for all the awesome tips Sir.
@tomchristieart Жыл бұрын
Thanks Lewis! I have a hen mallard coming up and plan to do a full painting video for that like the others I’ve done. I will be selling those on my web site but I’m sure I will have a few videos for my KZbin channel as well. Thanks for the feedback and suggestion.
